Carbon track on plug and Plugwire caused an ignition miss. Replacing just the plug or the wire alone would have resulted in another ignition miss.

I was at my wit's end reading about all the stuff that could cause a random multiple misfire in my 2001 Nissan Sentra and skipped over the sparkplugs and coils since the previous owner swore he put new ones on...read on a website carbon tracking can cause misfires and sure enough my coil pack has those chalky white marks....looks like even if he DID put new ones in, he didn't use any Dielectric Grease either which I heard will fry the sparkplug and coil if you don't use it. Thanks for the video, I know it's all the way from Sept 2008...seems so long ago, god, I was still in high school as a senior then lol. But it was very helpful to me all the way in 2016 :D ...now to order some premium NGK spark plugs, anti seize lubricant, coil pack, and dielectric grease and pray this multiple misfire goes away...

I been having random, then cyl #3 misfire, back and forth. Had dist cap, rotor, wires, plugs installed. Then soon after, same codes again , so someone removed cyl #3 and there on the plug was carbon tracking. I don't know about the boot nor the other plugs. What would cause the carbon tracking ?

And, why or what causes carbon tracking? How can new plugs be faulry straiggt out of factory? Is 2nd ign waveform spike straight up and sharply drops flat? No spark?

does carbon tracking cause a misfire ? or does a misfire caused by something else cause the carbon tracking ?
