Some ideas for weight savings... Custom Carbon Body Panels, rear subframe in Carbon and stuff like the Front sproket housing and Heat Panels in Carbon. You can easily Lose a few Kilos with that.

Why not ergal then? It isn't as strong as titanium but, if i'm not wrong ergal is way lighter (should be around 2.88g/cm³ for ergal and titanium is ~4.5g/cm3) Also ergal screws/bolts look, sick even tough, just like titanium, they are kinda pricey
@replynotificationsdisabled4 жыл бұрын
Wouldn't say stronger, they both have their strengths.

Seeing you perform all those stunts with the bullet wheels really changed my perspective on them. I didn't know which one to choose from I thought they were weaker.

carbon looks weaker but it can withstand more stress than aluminium rims

I just came across this and your comments at the end of your teat ride really made me smile, because in changing un sprung Weight the actual change to the feeling of the bike is a factor of 7 (from memory) which means that even though you only dropped 4 kilos of mass, the bike acts as if it's 28 kg lighter, and it's makes me so happy that someone realised the difference it makes to the ride rather than just going "my bike has sik wheels bruh" Love the video and I'm not sure on your rules your comp has but to shave weight I'd remove front fender entirely, headlight assembly entirely, probably shave the rear tail section, carbon bars normally saves about a kilo, if you can get them for a duke carbon brake calipers are a thing nowadays, and probably a carbon caliper holder as it would also be un sprung Weight and the riding difference again has that factor of 7. Really liked the video and your new staff member :)

I saw someone planning a titanium. Trellis frame for a Ducati. Maybe they'll make one for the Duke? Carbon valve covers. Yamaha had some magnesium bar mounts once. I used to work at a titanium spring company. They saved alot of weight there, too (if you don't already have some) It was xalled Renton Coil Spring. They made for F1 teams as well as passenger and military airplanes.

Carbon handlebars carbon rearseatcover, carbon footpegs, carbonfibre gearpedal/brake, carbonfibre brake and clutchlever, rear footpegmounts in carbon... And so on ;).
