You can even skip the killing part. On Dark Souls 3, I was doing a Seigward build and I got invaded. I dropped a Seigbrou and did the "Cheers" emote behind it. He grabbed the Seigbrou and sat with me. After a nice toast he got up and dropped 5 embers for be before leaving. No bloodshed, only friendship and and a good moment. But 90% of the time its brutal violence
