What Larry & Dino have done for car culture (AND CONTINUE TO DO) cannot be appreciated ENOUGH. They are walking/living legends. Thank you, Larry. Thank you, Dino.

Real car culture is super niche, and JDM is an even smaller percentage.

Hearing people talk about car engine setups, etc especially advanced conversations like in this vlog is music to my ears, I understand most of the terminologies but the concepts behind these builds and the workarounds they come up with these rare setups just fascinates me and blow my mind. I wish I had even 50% of the knowledge these guys have WOW...Thanks Larry and company for all that you do!

Old Datsun's are so lovely, they remind me of my uncles. They were into 70s Cedrics and Crowns etc. Not really tuning, just dailying in the 80s and 90s. At the same house they built and maintained their cars at, my granpa had a crazy dump filled with cars for some reason, hundreds of now classic cars that just rotted there and were disposed in the 2000s as they were an environmental issue by then. Back in the 90s, a friend of mine had a forever project car, an early 70s Celica. I fell in love with the body too.

Nothing beats a Hakosuka!!❤.That speedbump 💀 The old Cartech is sweet. To think I’ve seen one in a junkyard years ago. I should have grab it. I didn’t want to due to the size cfm. I had a carb box built and dual turbo manifold for L28. Collecting dust. As my Fairlady is now gone.

Very Cool. I still have the original catalog from Cartech with that blow thru system.

Aw yes old school L series turbo build i always wanted to do one on a 240z L28et with a carb hks surge tank with a LD28 3.1 crank or get the cheaper 280zx and run big injectors

I dig the build, especially keeping the more difficult tuning option of the older turbo system. Thanks for continuously showing us all kinds of build styles Larry.

Cool to see his Hako featured. Remember seeing this Cartech turbo kit back in the early 90's and cool to see someone present day using it. Would be awesome to see it with Jenvey heritage ITB's/FI. The mention of the jets coming loose is a a thing a lot of people overlook and something I've learned to periodically check them.

If your jets are loose. Use Loctite. The manifold is probably so warn in from bolting and unbolting that the threads are out of spec for circularity and thickness.. Probably feels great going together... but.... you want a bit of resistance.

That gasket has to be air tight.. it's incoming draw pressure the higher you make that work.. The better cold air coming through the carb and the intake. Also do you want dirty air from the exhaust? You want that surface flat.. As flats as the head. because the exhaust and intake are symmetrical bolts. They share lugs.

I worked for a family that owned a Volvo dealership years ago. Years before that they owned the Datsun/Nissan franchise. They still had some brand new Nissan products stored in the four story Volvo building including some Bluebirds and Z cars from the 70s/80s. I was into RWD Volvos so I didn't appreciate what those cars were or even what their values would be today.
