I tested the 38cc and it's good to go now. Your video helped twice . I realized I had the high and low needle confused. On a nitro the long screw is the high needle. But on this the long screw is the low. Backwards haha. I'm glad it is ok. I watch it for any weard issues. Then I shut it off and inspect. I hope my seal doesn't leak like you said few vids ago. I don't own a tool to remove that clutch. Seems good though.

Hey brother awesome! Its okay you me and a lot of people have confused that haha. The best way to look at is low is closest to the engine and high furthest away. Once you burn that in your brain you wont confuse it anymore. As for your seal if it was bad you have noticed right away so that fact you got it running good Is say you are fine bro. Invest in a clutch tool. DDM has very nice ones. One of my favs is the Bartolone billet one. You are very welcome and thank you for the support to the channel bro. Much appreciated 🙏🤝

Jeff, I see you use 50:1 gas oil mixture instead of the older 25:1 mixture? Can I use the premixed gas oil like the Echo fuel, Husqvarna or Stihl. Another great video and love the sound effects. 👍👍👊👊 you need to go to Hollywood and do them for the movies.
@eastsiderc7 ай бұрын
Hey bro you sure can use that fuel. The stihl is 93 octane and thats very good oil. VP also makes fuel premixed at 50:1 with 95 or 97 octane I can’t remember. But yes you can absolutely use those fuels in our rigs. As for a Taylor or big bore, I would go with a better quality race fuel such as VP C12. The performance you get from it is unmatched compared to the canned fuels. Hope you have an awesome day Buddy!

I just posted 2 videos on my channel about this exact problem. Sorta. I have a 30%n clone of losi5t. Blue like yours. Same nasty spike tires also. Mine kept having problems idling. Then I thought I had it. Then realized it was the screws on the intake had loosened. So I had trouble getting it to hold a tune . Then it started to idle high. So then I shut it off. After checking it out. Found the intake bolts loose. I didn't use much thread lock . My bad. So I kept setting it back to stock settings. Thought it was 1 1/4 and 1 1/2 turns for settings. I got the zenoah 38cc race engine from fearless. I think its a 36cc thats modifiedto 38. Not sure.. Think I'll try your suggestion as soon as the rain let's up. I always go back to stock settings if I have any issues. Thanks for the tips. God bless you bro. Ps. Avoid all false profits. Haha. Absolutely. I met one. Avoid at all times. God bless

Brother thanks for the great comment. Hopefully you didnt get a lean issue and hurt the ring n piston. When the exhaust or intake comes loose the engine can go real quick. Usually if you catch it fast enough youll be okay but you gotta notice it quick. The 38 is a chinese 30 degree north engine and its made of high quality materials . Very good engine that is not done right lol. God bless you brother any help you need just ask bro! Great video! What temperature should I run a 36cc when tuning and when ripping around? Another video you did at your moms house you kept checking the temp, what should I be looking for when tuning in relation to temperature control on the engine, and with warm, hot, or cold weather? Thank you!
@eastsiderc5 ай бұрын
Hey bro thanks for watching. Hot weather the engine is definitely going to run a little warmer. I dont even run this heat honestly, you have to take away so much fuel , the engine gets hot and dont make enough power for me. But honestly no matter what you should see operating temperatures at the cylinder near the base of it 190~225 any hotter and your heat soaking the engine. Running in hot or cold wont hurt a thing its just a different tune needed. Warm up I take off when I see 115 degrees and then I drop the hammer wide open. Clutch temps should be between 90~160 depending on how much off n on your doing with the clutch. I do a lot of gear changing so you probably saw me taking clutch temps as well as engine temps. The temp gun is just for checking. Your best tuning tool is your ear! A trained ear will hear a to lean of a tune right away and make the adjustment. Temps at the head are much higher because then you will read combustion temps. But dont be scared if you see 245 after beating on it in the summer heat it should cool back down rather quickly if you got the right amount of fuel and oil mix going through the carb. 50:1 makes things much easier for tuning and cooling of rhe engine. As more fuel get to the engine and fuel cools not oil however with more fuel you get more oil because of the oil being suspended in our mix. Hope that helps and I didn’t dump to much on ya.

@Js_junkyard7 ай бұрын
Thanks, man it was a decent day! I hope yours was good. Let me ask you for some more advice though? I’m using the spiral diaphragm in my 1191, yet it floods up all of the sudden, I know this because my tune was sounding okay, I barely went lean from the base settings. I drive it about 5 minutes and all of the sudden it just runs like crap. The plug looks oily but I’m also still running through the first tanks of fuel using the 927, so I would expect running that oil is going to be a little dark. The carb looks wet inside, so I’m wondering is it the little seat in there? I cleaned out that tiny screen in the carb too which helped for 5 more minutes. Make a video on how to test that needle/seat for leaks and maybe how to check adjust pop pressure?

So... a guy built me a 38cc casereed with a 1242 obr carb. He told me to run 110 octane with 28 to 1 oil ratio. When he sent the engine back the idle screw was turned all the way smashed in. I got the engine started and after it was idling for a few heat cycles i trued bring the idle down with the low screw and it shut off. Never got the motor started again. Save me lol
@eastsiderc3 ай бұрын
First take that crap glorified 990 off of there! I have a video on how to correctly set the idle. Turning the idle all the way in take it out if the equation and thats just plain stupid. Second off the 1242 is way to small of a carb for a 38cc engine. And 28:1 is about a joke of a mix as 25:1 when using synthetic oils. Yes use 110 thats good VP C12 is better. You never ever need 25 or 28:1 with synthetic oils thats a lean on fuel rich on oil mix. It makes tuning a pain and you can easily smoke your engine running it too lean. I recommend 50:1 and get you a Walbro 1107 or a Taylor Walbro 1257 and use either of those carbs and you should be fine, as long as the person who built the engine didnt remove to much metal inside hindering starting all together. A 1242 is an opened venturi 990. No choke equates to a loss in air speed, the nozzle in the air stream cuts down on CFM flow to the engine. And opening up the end of the carb also slow the air down. Thats a gimmick carb I dont care what anyone says. Ive been tuning two strokes for years and that carb shouldnt be used on anything but 30.5 cc and below any bigger you should be using 1107 amd depending on the mods and HD223 may be needed to get enough fuel to make power . Thats the carb I use in my modded engines from TMR performance and they scream their little ports off! I hope that helps you bro! I WILL NOT LIE to you or steer you in the incorrect direction. The things Ive told you are the things I do and all of my many many two strokes run with perfection!! Hope you have a super awesome brappy weekend bro! 🙏🇺🇸 🤝

Hello there, I'm trying to fit a 38cc head into a 28mm stroke g320 today, but I discovered that it has a free port after the exhaust had a 0.040 squish at the top dead center. The 38 head has a 2.31 mm free space to the head with the gasket installed; if I remove the gasket, the gap will be 1.91 mm, requiring me to cut 1 mm, to set 0.040 squish but I want the 0.020 squish. but the issue is free port Do you have a solution for this problem? Many thanks for that
@eastsiderc7 ай бұрын
I sure dont John. The only way I would say is to end mill the cases and or the cylinder. Sometimes a little free porting is okay. I know that 38 head has a bit of room for sure and a very tiny exhaust port. But made of quality material a great “porters casting” good luck to you bro thanks for watching. Sorry I could not be of more assistance.
