VERY informative video!!! THE BEST! Thanks. One always reads what the HSN and LSN does, but seeing it makes it click.

You may have a reputation to be many things some not so good but in my opinion now you can add a reputation of making hands down the best nitro tuning videos on any platform out there

Nice...How about also long lsn vs short lsn tuning, and needle tip differences between different carbs in the same brand also in brand J vs brand Q. See what I did there. Keep the videos coming🏎💨💯💪💪👊👊👍👍

basics are the same on every engine, except stupid carbs that have oval exits and stuff - they suck. Long and short i find just change how the engine feels accelerating, long you get less adrupt midrange transtion(this is also effected by shape and length etc of the MSN), short - the LSN is more on the "its mostly used for idle" side as the HSN fully takes over sooner.

Good question, can add it to a follow up video.

@@MrSupermugen true I agree the basic principles are the same, but I find that on long lsn carbs for less experienced guys tuning the needles in reverse(lsn first then hsn) to a short lsn carb(hsn first then lsn) tends to end with a more consistent running engine. Being as though the hsn on a long lsn carb needs to be rich enough to force fuel pass the needle for a longer duration of throttle pull vs on a short lsn the hsn needs to be lean enough to prevent dumping to much fuel from 15-25% throttle up to full pull. And the taper of the needles has alot to do with feel throughout the powerband. Also the thread pitch can effect the "hour or 5min" turn depth between different needles(an hour on brand x could be 1.5hrs on brand y).
