lol, pay Cat B COE at 61k & 1.8 litre road tax at 1k/year for just a 80bhp engine, Toyota son trying to pull a fast one on the uninformed by sg carbuyers ... same goes for Toyota Camry 2.5 hybrid, pay 2.5 litre road tax for the performance of a 1.4l turbo at 8.5sec can give u, 西北 smart :-)

$735 x 10 years = $7350. Hybrid usually cost $10000 more than it's non-hybrid counterpart. Hence, you still save more on a non-hybrid car. Also since it is a 1.8 litre car, cost more for road tax, insurance and maintenance. I know Borneo Motors are paying you guys but c'mon..be realistic and more transparent. Stay safe👍

Yeah, that's the problem with hybrid vehicles. Upfront costs don't balance out the savings. Until the tech becomes cheaper, it's still cheaper to run ICE.... Unless you're a cabbie or in the ride share industry (grab, gojek, etc)

Always with the deep numbers Gad! Well it depends on what you look at: Eg. Prius+ is now S$140k with COE, definitely not mainstream cheap, but compare it to a small MPV, around S$130-S$135k then you're talking. And now there's cars like the Yaris Cross, around same price as competing non-hybrid small SUVs. So it really depends on what segment and specific models you're looking at.

Oh and Camry Hybrid for eg. one of the least expensive big sedans around. It depends the segment and model you're looking for, VES has really levelled the playing field in some cases.

Im torn between choosing hybrid car prius plus and petrol mazda 3 to do part time grab n travel to work. Mazda 3 rental is much cheaper
