You are the only guy on KZbin that tells you to pull on the bolt to get it in. I just been trying for about 2hrs thinking I did something wrong.

Yeah! It’s a bit weird but makes sense once you realize that it needs to be recocked.

@@GarandGuy2553 yip. Have no idea why no one tells you. Also do all carcanos bolts suck or like to bolted hard

That really is a minimal amount of parts to that bolt compared to a Mosen Nagant bolt or an 8Mm mauser bolt or the model 1903 bolt. Always good to show a simple break down makes it much easier to follow. Thanks for the informative video.

Thanks for watching!

It´s kind of similar to those of modern hunting rifles, isn´t it?

Yeah, I took mine apart at the range one day and couldn’t get it back together. Once I saw a guide, I was like damn that was easy haha

Yes! I’ve seen more on the market recently. I don’t know why but they’re cool none the less.

I have an M38 Carcano, and this video helped me so much for getting the bolt back into place. However, while I was inspecting and cleaning the rifle I discovered that the firing pin to it was also broken. I'm lost on where to find a reproduction or surplus bolt. You have most likely replaced your bolt with a new reproduction one so would you mind sharing where you bought the firing pin?

Yes! I picked up a few used firing pins on Childers Guns. It should be the first thing that pops up when you Google it.

I ended up getting a M91-38 1940 (Oswald rifle) but it came with a much older 1891 bolt? Some say it’s a post war add on; or during the war they used whatever bolt was on the shelf? Any thoughts? Great video I watch it about 20 times while taking my bolt apart 😂

All the bolts are interchangeable so it should work fine. Although if you have a straight bolt on yours rather than the bent down bolt, it might feel awkward to cycle. You could probably find one for cheap.

Is that 8mm Carcano bolt smoother than a 6.5 or a 7.35? I mean, did the Germans polish the bolt or something like that?
@GarandGuy2553 Жыл бұрын
Shooting it is certainly way different but cycling the bolt feels the same. This particular 8mm conversion was done post-war (probably in the 1950’s).

Today I received my 6.5 Carcano rifle and I was concerned when I pulled the Bolt out and on the left side of the bolt it looked cracked. I've got everything cleaned up and tomorrow I am going to a gun store in town and get a box of ammo. Should I get a good gun smith to give it a once over before I fire it ?
