@@321lionheart8 There are several theories about them and Tyberos. One is that the Tyberos is a former Custodian. As for the chapter officially they are descedants of the Raven Guard but they have much similarty with World Eaters. In books chapters flagship uses Ursus Claws, which no other chapter or legion uses except World Eaters. Also they prefer melee style of combat with chain axes as the weapon of choice for most of the marines.

Anyways they are saying that he's possibly a custodian as well. Both taking orders from the high Lords. But that theory is questionable cuz the custodis only take orders from the emperor. Not to mention their job is to guard him. So the go-off solo or serve someone else is highly unlikely.

@@321lionheart8 yes also Asterion Moloch from the Minotaurs chapter. But the theory is based on a retired Custodian. When i say retired, they can't be retired because they are basically immortal, but when they cannot perform their duty on the level that is required from them, ( due to injury or some other reasons), they are "retired". However there is the sect called The Eyes of the Emperor where those retired Custodians go and still performing various tasks in the Emperors name throughout the Galaxy. So, there is a posibility that a Custodian is put as a chapter master of Characarodons because they are stationed in a really messed part of the galaxy... But it is just a theory... Interesting one though

Just to add context, The Carcharadons captured a dark eldar and put him in a isolation cell, nothing to entertain it, they even pulled out his nails to stop him from scratching his skin or the walls for any kind of sensory pleasure. Stripped him naked. After some time the door did finally open, the Dark Eldar thought he would impress the chapter serfs with his physical perfection. All they did was have those chapter serfs hose him down with a high pressure hose, not once. But twice, and then simply put the door shut again.

I love the raven guard and space sharks. They were my first favorite but got superseded by the blood angels. I didn’t even know there was other legions. I found a ravenguard short story book in a box in Iraq. I grabbed it and everyone on team loved them. The shadow walkers were something else. Then I got home from Iraq and found the blood angels. Yup, that was the end for me. I had a ton of anger issues when I got home so it just felt right. It took me 8 years to check my rage and thirst for violence.

during Red Tithe, the Charcharodon company and the Night Lord warband both seemed like 2 sides of the same coin, with how both fought and how they were compared to each other aswell, to me it seems more like the author saying both are from the same blood but were raised very differently, I have heard that Sevatar hated how the criminals of Nostromo became astartes with no respect, but the Charcharodons are made entirely of highly disiplined astartes who are taken from penal colonies, redeemed for their crimes, and shown utmost respect, literary speaking, it'd make sense for the Charcharodons to be of Nightlord geneseed do to the high amount of similarities they share

I’ve always wondered if the space sharks are actually fathered by Cruze instead of corax. Just like there are some other questionable lineage of other chapters. Their terror tactics are very similar. It’s hinted that at least Cawl may have experimented with traitor gene seed at times.

@@Sol_Invictus510 before Corax was found, the XIX legion was actually very much like the later nightlords, having been made up of the rather brutal Xeric tribes of Terra, and used as the terror troops and special operations forces of Terran Unification and the Great Crusade. heavily encouraged in such by Horus Lupercal and the Luna Wolves Legion, who the XIXth often worked closely with. when Corax was found and put in charge, he started purging the Terran born troops because he disliked their brutal tactics and slaver origins, as those were traits which he'd just fought a war over on Deliverance. he sent the terran born troops into suicidal missions, and exiled them in nomad-predation fleets to the farther fringes of the galaxy. the Carcharadons are the descendants of one such fleet. the Ashen Claws another. (the horus heresy books put out by GW and FW have been a wealth of information about this part of the Legion's history.. and are full of indirect references to Carcharadons related stuff)

It’s truly a matter of 50/50 here. Both of those legions excel at their own seperate tactics, while both of their chapter masters are, quite literally, unstoppable monsters of war. Pit one against the other several times and carcharadons would win some, loose some, and others would come to a stalemate. I can’t express enough how stupidly op Minotaurs and the Space Sharks are.

I'd like to think they have chimaeric geneseed, predominantly Night Lord but mixed with World Eater. The carcharadons have been shown on occassion to have that intense sort of bloodlust uncharacteristic of even the Night Lords, and out of all the traitor legions the World Eaters had the most loyalists. Makes me wonder where they went, y'know?

As a long time fan of WH40K, I can say that they are and have been a mystery from the very beginning. As the years go by and bits and pieces of information come out and are verified by GW, I still hold on to the line of thinking that they are a mixture of different loyal legions. Raven Guard, Night Lords, World Eaters. They have too many underlying characteristics to be from just one Legion. At least their traditions are a blend of multiple Legions. We also must remember that during the Heresy, not all Traitorous Legions had 100% Traitorous members and those Loyal members where cast to the wind and some of them found new homes. Why couldn't the Carcharodons be just that, a mixture of loyal Legionaires banding together to fight for the Imperium they love and an enemy they hate...

In my head-canon these guys are the perfect blend of raven guard and world eaters with a little bit of night lord sprinkled on top. But no joke Tyberos is a beast. I also love the fact that they don't say shit. Just enter the battlefield, kills the enemy, leaves without a word. I think the only time they speak if I'm correct is when they ask for supplies.

I have a crazy theory that the space sharks are the gene seed of one of the lost primarchs, a shark man primarch is too cool to not be a thing, his name was probably Megalodonus Jaw or something on the nose, just a thought

The Carcharodons are rumored to have Chimeric Gene-seed, a combination of Raven Guard and Night Lord. With some suggesting they were in fact founded by loyalist Night Lords and Terran Raven Guard. The loyalist Night Lord connection is based on the fact the Chapter Master of the Carcharodons uses what appears to be Konrad Curze aka the Night Haunter's power claws. Not necessarily the ones he died with, but one of the handful he used during the Great Crusade. Also the Carcharodon's are known for terror tactics and unrivaled ferocity.

It's never been proven which Gene seed the space sharks come from. So , I like to think that they're not really a successor chapter but secretly legion and their "Chapter master" TYBEROS the secretly one of the Lost missing PRIMARCHS disguising himself as a abnormally large space marine.

Every one has a crazy theory on the space fishies, so here is mine. (Cue tin foil crinkle) They are from a sub chapter of the 2nd legion. The "forgotten one" is the primaris of 2nd. Now for the "tin foil" section. The night lords and raven primaris are the "sons" of the 2nd primarch not the the big emp. I think the 2nd primarch got too big for his britches and decided to create his own sons and form his own empire, big E got mad wiped him from existance and claimed them (night lord and raven) as his own. It also explains why tyberious(head of space sharks) is so much larger than other space marines because the 2nd primarch was into gene splicing so he could create his own offspring. (Now tin foil hats off class) love your vids. Btw no one will ever read this (or believe it) so what i said will not matter. 🎉 P.s. this also explains why big E freaked out and sent the the space sharks to badab to wipe the traitors, cause the had experince in it. Here’s a more plausible theory of their origins. It’s clear they share ties with the raven guard and their successor renegade the ashen claws especially through the the shade lord arkas fal now the forgotten one. The second founding was right after the heresy could it not be possible that the initial marines that would form what we know today as tha carcaradons were loyalists that splintered off from the ashen claws (who were the original Terran born raven guard) that wished to return to fight for the emperor out of a sense of shame only to realize that neither the post heresy imperium nor their Primarch Corvis Corax would take them as they were technically renegades that took no side in the war. Corax wanted nothing to do with these Terran born ex raven guard astartes but understood they were loyal and perhaps spared them out of guilt following the fiasco of the raptor experiment. Killing more of his sons would be a waste when they could still forfill a purpose. So the 19th Primarch included them as part of the second founding as he split his legion. But unlike the other raven guard successors Corax ordered them once again to the dark fringes of the galaxy granting rights of predation to hunt the foes of humanity and forging a pact with the mechanius. The chapter as a consequence of their distance from the imperium would fall out of contact even with the inquisition and thus forgotten by the galaxy for the next 7,000 years. Until the chapter re-emerged in the 37th millennia what ever documents on the carcaradons pertaining to the second founding were lost or corrupted as most knowledge does in the imperium so for simplicity the high lords reintroduced the chapter to the imperium as part of the 23rd founding for the sake of the administratiums sanity. Which would explain the discrepancy in documentation as well as the chapters reliance on modified ancient patterns of power armor Such as the Mrk 2, 3 iron armor and heresy pattern as that is what they had access to at the time in m31 aka the Horus heresy. With characardons in mrk 7 and using the indomitus terminator pattern a gift as part of their reintroduction
