The new Amarok is offered in five model series: “Amarok”, “Life” and “Style” as well as the top versions “PanAmericana” (off-road styling) and “Aventura” (exclusive styling). The new Amarok in Europe is designed as a four-door pick-up with a double cab. At 5,350 mm, the new Amarok is almost ten cm longer than its predecessor. 3,270 mm wheelbase corresponds to an increase of 173 mm. This ensures more space in the double cabin.
Its technology and the new equipment with a variety of assistance systems and 360-degree camera images also make off-road driving much easier. It now has a wading depth of 80 instead of the previous 50 cm. Shorter overhangs and, last but not least, the powerful engine/gearbox combinations also contribute to this.
2.0l turbodiesels with 125 and 151 kW output are available as well as a 3.0l six-cylinder diesel with 177 kW. Depending on the model series, the new Amarok has a choice of six-speed manual transmission or a ten-speed automatic transmission. The TDI in-line and V engines deliver between 405 and 600 Newton meters of torque. All models come with 4MOTION all-wheel drive as standard, either as switchable (2H, 4H, 4L) or as extended switchable all-wheel drive (4A, 2H, 4H, 4L). These top versions offer variable and therefore automatic power distribution between the front and rear axles via a multi-plate clutch. The new Amarok therefore has enough power to pull large loads or to move forward even in the challenging terrain of a forest or construction site.
Depending on the equipment, more than 25 assistance systems, displays with a screen diagonal of up to 12.3 inches, a practical mix of digital and analogue controls and high-quality materials ensure a premium feeling on board the new Amarok. Thanks to a payload of up to 1.19 tonnes, a trailer load of up to 3.5 tonnes and an even better thought-out cargo box, the new Amarok can handle all imaginable tasks at work and in leisure time.
