Great review! We bought a 21 XLT for my wife and we love it! The tech isn't up to par with the other MFG but I am good with that as it has more tech than our F150, LOL. It rides more like a truck too. It fits all of our kids, tows great, looks awesome and the price fit our budget. The rear bias, 4x4 works SO GOOD in the snow!!! Very impressed with the winter driving manors.

@@klasseact6663 I'm sort of the same way. I grew up in the midwest and I really want to support American car companies, but have you seen the prices they are asking for this year? And I'm not just talking about this short term inventory hit where dealers are marking up the limited cars they DO have. I mean just the pricing is shocking. This reviewer talked about the explorer having "power." It's a 5,000 pound vehicle with a 4 cylinder engine and the other reviews I've watched are universal in their complaint the explorer doesn't have enough pick up. The highlander... the pathfinder... the traverse... the Durango... all come with 6 cylinders starting in the mid 30s. Ford, you can't get a 6 cylinder for under $46K. So as much as I want to support Ford (and have in years past) I can't pay more and get less. That's simply there to help their stock price and doesn't work for me.

As I own a Santa Fe and an Explorer bang for the buck to Santa Fe is a better vehicle however the Santa Fe does not have keyless entry does not have a third-row does not have a power third row and doesn't have a 10-speed transmission things to consider

I owed four Santa Fe’s and loved them all but you don’t compare apples for apples. If you want to compare an Explorer with a Hyundai’s counterpart, than you look for a Palisade. That is the right match. Yes, Korean cars have better technology but have softer suspension and if you plan on towing, Explorer is more robust. Also, Ecoboost 2.3 l is an amazing engine, have it on my Ranger, towing over 4,000 l s boat with no sweat. I personally think all today’s new models are very similar and is all down to a personal preference in small details.
@bobdavis33573 жыл бұрын
I would only buy the Explorer ST. The 4 banger is too small for such a heavy Rig, IMO👉 it's the same engine as the Ranger. But only more power. Drove the ST, Lauren.

Owned the 2020 version, which is the same vehicle far as I can see. Worst vehicle ownership experience of my life. What an absolute lemon. Transmission failed 3 times in 18 months, spewing transmission fluid all over the road, and my driveway. Multimedia display replaced twice. Handled like a farm tractor. Acres of cheap hard plastic and faux leather is like the old vinyl seats I had in my first car, a 1981 Peugeot 504. On the upside 2.3l engine is pretty impressive for the big vehicle is has to move. Fuel consumption combined was 19.9 over 2 years, which is also pretty good. “When it comes to quality Ford builds a really good vehicle”…er no.

I hate to say it, but I think the only reason to buy the Explorer over the Jeep Grand Cherokee L is for the ST, because that is a very impressive engine. The interior of the Explorer is a joke for the prices they charge. It just looks very cheap at pretty much all trim levels. You have spend more than $50k to even get real leather seats. The biggest head scratcher for me is why they didn’t update to Sync 4, as you pointed out. On the upper trim levels, you can get the wireless charger, which is located in an awkward position, but you still have to plug it in for Apple Car Play anyways. What’s the point of having a wireless charger then?
