Hey Lauren, your beef with the next Civic is the lack of lumbar support, and you're spot on. My beef is that not enough cars offer cooled seats. As a journalist and one that has the ear of the car company's, will you please let the automakers realize that now that the technology exists, people down south and the far west will be more than happy to opt for this! Great review guys. I agree there should be lumbar support and heated steering for the highest trim at least if nothing else. One last issue I take with it is that there's no volume knob - BUT, the target audience they're going for won't care much about any of those slight issues because overall this is an incredible deal - they will likely get highest sales volume in this segment. Well done Honda!

i like everything about the car except the round fog lights in front, i thing they should be wider and horizontal like the new accord... lots of room their to fill out in that area...

GREAT review by both of you but it was tough to hear Lauren in parts of this video. Yah, this is a car that I will consider along with the Accord, though the Civic might be better for me since I will be driving alone 99.9% of the time. Keep up your great work and thanks for your input on this car. And yes, not sure why Honda left out the lumbar support for this car. But does the turbo take regular or premium fuel?? And I wonder if it is risky to buy a turbo in a redesigned car since there may be problems with it in the first year.

+Lauren Fix Thanks for your reply, Lauren! I am always cautious in buying first-year redesigned cars since there seems to be problems with cars like this at times and then the problems are fixed in the next year. But this new Civic is really tempting to look at, esp. with the turbo which gives it added power. I know people who have had turbos in their vehicles but those ran on premium which I do NOT want And yes, the turbos are not cheap to fix when they go wrong but that is a chance to take. So I guess this Civic turbo is different than those other engines since this one runs on regular which I like. And I like the added power since I do long distance drives at times and I need the power driving in the mountains. And not sure why Honda did not put lumbar support like you mentioned; not a deal breaker for me but it should have been in the Civic models since the Accord has it. I was considering the Mazda 6, Hyundai Sonata, the Accord, the Camry but now, I will definitely look at the Civic since it is vastly improved and looks hot (though I am not a big fan of the wheels but I can live with them). Anyhow, I subscribed to your reviews since you and Paul do a fine job with this and thanks for sharing your professional opinions. Happy Driving from New Mexico! (P.S.: I currently have a 1998 Camry LE 4-cylinder with 130,000 miles on it and I bought it new 18 years ago and it has been a VERY reliable car. And before that, I had a 1986 Accord LX 4-cylinder for 11 years and 120,000 miles and that was also very reliable.)

I test drove the Touring. It's a great car. If you haven't done so, then I would recommend it.

I think this is the first car I see in white and actually like it.. my only complaint is why put heating in the back.. I would much rather have a heated steering wheel or even better cooled and heated seating up front..

It would had been better if you guys measured the road noise or briefly talked about it. Civics are known to have road noise which gradually tends to get worst over time. They have gotten away by offering Civics sub 20's, but 25 and up for a civic will be a tough decision to make. It is almost the same price as Accord Ex model.

Why did Honda remove the standard e-brake lever? cost probably. On the other hand those of us who feel safer, knowing that this lever is close to our right hand, for emergencies, such as: have fun session while driving in the snow, we as a people, are totally left out. Honda bring back, the e-brake lever please!!!!!!! I enjoyed your report, very much

Wish you didn't speed up the video on the initial gesturing and selection using the touch screen... this is literally the only downfall of this car - the touch screen needs some improvement; double inputs, missed gestures, slow moving and no feedback. All that said, I'll be purchasing one soon.

i would prefer it if they tested the base models. not many will buy the highest end and we all know what we get with high end models (leather, navigation blah blah blah)

Consumer Reports actually recommends the base model of the Civic. They say that the infotainment is significantly easier and faster to use on that one. They say if you can find it, the base model does come with the option of Honda Sensing, but not all dealers will have that exact car in stock.

Considering what's on the market today. The Scion will no longer be available after 2016 so you should be able to get a good deal on one. The Honda Fit is kind of small which is why I would personally suggest the Civic and unless it's too much room for you. Check out our review on the Honda Civic. The Mazda three is a good choice as well but overall I would purchase the Civic if I have the four options.

+betoski I would recommend Civic, Mazda, Fit then Scion. All are good choice but for base model, the Civic got it cover, MPG, Room, same quality ride as the Mazda3. Resale is another benefit value.

Nice car to look at & drive but the outside convex mirrors give you a false distance of other cars around you, cars look 100Ft. away are really only about 40 Ft, a safety hazard.

Be careful, my 2016 CIVIC EX needs a new AC compressor. Just out of 3/36000 warranty. Other have the same or similar problem. The dealer is asking for $1,600. Please please do your research before buying. Yes, I am pissed.

This month Honda released a TSB (19-091) where they are replacing faulty condensers, but no compressors.

Et tu Brute? Mazda ( in their cheaper models ) and now Honda. A CD is not just a certificate of deposit. It is something you have invested in and expect to listen in your new unit. Notice that all other Honda models still have cd players, but not this baby. I'm sure I'm not the only one complaining. Did you guys have to sign a gag order on this one?

I own this car and it's great... but the infotainment system is TERRIBLE. Car Play and Android Auto are cool, if you like to plug your phone in. If you don't want to plug your phone in, give it a good test before you buy. I'm very dissatisfied with the audio system interface. I love the drive though and I averaged 41 mpg last tank which almost makes up for it.
