Really good review. Straight to the point. I’m in the market for a CPO Cayenne. I’m deciding between a 2023 Cayenne or 2024 base. This will be my first Porsche. I’ve worked long and hard to afford it.

An awesome, informative and refreshing review.

After driving several vehicles, I ordered a base Cayenne. I decided since, I'm not going to be towing anything, I would go with the base Cayenne and spend the money on upgrades. I did upgrade the suspension, 21' wheels, and seats. I added a lot of upgrades and I'm happy with my choice.

Basically looks the same year after year. Not for your average buyer >>> price + parts + labor are prohibitive ! Extended warranty is a must have ,,,

I love the base exteriors of Cayenne, esp silver

I don’t like they removed the tachometer or added the button instead of a start switch. Those were two things that made the experience much nicer than any other cars out there, probably the 911 will follow, no tachometer is confirmed by spy pics already.

Is that not actually a 2.9TT dohc d.i. V6 in reality? Either way, I like it.

The base Cayenne has a 3.0 litre single turbo V6 with direct injection.

I perceive quality by a product’s reliability and longevity with reasonable maintenance costs. German autos brands have struggled for the past few decades with poor reliability ratings and overly complicated engineering. It’s best to sell before the warranty expires, or lease and give back - these are not cars you want to own long term. BTW - a RAV4 Prime has a quicker 0-60 time, which is kind of sad.
@H2SO4H2011 ай бұрын
Some relatively inexpensive EV's and PHEV's are quite fast in a straight line. It's hard to say what the actual achievable 0-60 time is for the 2024 base Cayenne. Porsche says its 5.7 seconds but Porsche typically dramatically understates horsepower and performance. For example Porsche says that 0-60 for my 2022 Cayenne base is 5.9 seconds but Motor Trend achieved it in 5.1 seconds. Motor Trend got the RAV4 Prime to 60 in 5.5 seconds. Regardless of what it really is, acceleration is only one aspect of the Cayenne. The Cayenne is great fun to drive on twisty roads and handles like a much smaller vehicle and better than many sports cars. Put the air suspension in Normal mode and its ride compliance is almost as cushy as the Lexus LS and Mercedes S-class sedans I've owned. The double pane glass all around makes it very quiet and restful on road trips. Fuel economy has been unexpectedly good for a vehicle that weighs not that far from 5,000 pounds - averaged over 27 mpg on one 635 mile segment driving mostly at 70 mph It will be interesting to see how reliable mine is over the long haul. The RAV4 Prime is pretty cool. My wife is in the queue for the Lexus version - the NX450h - but Toyota is producing very few RAV4 Prime and NX450h and it's probably going to be a long wait - 19 months so far.

Great review but who can really afford a vehicle that costs $100,000 and up. I'm sure it's cool and all, I don't feel like going into financial ruins over a car. Maybe Laura is a millionaire. LOL. Honestly, I be so afraid to park it on the street or drive in heavy traffic with it.
@H2SO4H2011 ай бұрын
According to Kiplinger, around 3,300,000 people in the U.S. have a net worth of at least $10,815,000. I'll bet those people and some who have less money than that can afford a Cayenne. LOL, I often use my Cayenne's "Traffic Jam Assist" feature in heavy traffic. It essentially drives the Cayenne as long as I touch the steering wheel every so often (but I keep my hands on the wheel), does it better than I can and makes it a lot less stressful.

I take it Lauren has a back up car. She wouldn't be exposing a car like that to the salt and chemicals that are spread over Buffalo's streets in the winter time. Unless she's got a garage that doubles as a car wash.
@CarCoachReports Жыл бұрын
That is my year-round car. I have paint protection, and ceramic coating applied by Xpel. Run the car through the car wash once a week and no problems whatsoever. There is no rust on this vehicle. Mine is a 2016 with 50,000 miles on it. I’ve got another 450,000 to go on this engine because it’s a diesel. But I do have other vehicles.
