Is the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe Better Than a Land Rover?

The 2024 Santa Fe 3-row SUV features a wider, aggressive front grille, digital cluster, available HTRAC AWD and up to 271 hp. and so so much more. Under the hood of every Hyundai Santa Fe is a turbocharged 277-hp 2.5-liter inline-four engine. Front-wheel drive and an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic are standard, and all-wheel drive is optional.
The first thing I saw was the resemblance of a Land Rover, not just the profile but also on some of the interior features. The XRT trim level is not as capable as any Land Rover, but it does offer all terrain tires; higher ride height of 1.3”; comes AWD and gas engine only; 18” wheels on 30” tires and
black side mirrors which changes the look and its ability for over landing.

Test drove one, and I was kinda surprised by its low height in the cargo area. Although it's squared off, the hatch opening is actually not that big. The low mounted tail lamps actually makes it look tall, but the roof line overall slopes down. It was well appointed, comfortable and quick. But I don't trust the DCT for the long haul.

Bought the hybrid SEL a couple of weeks ago. Like it so far. Lots of inside space and big upgrade from the Nissan Rogue I traded. Turns a lot of heads...not too many on the road where I live.

I love the look! You will need paint protection otherwise if you get a bug or a bee dropping on the paint and you polish it out or clean it out, you might cause a shiny spot.

The title is a bit funny to me, being that most SUV’s in general, are better than a Land Rover. Land Rovers simply have too many electric issues and long term maintenance issues to even be worthy of comparison. They look great and when they do work, they’re excellent but everyone does that a problem free Land Rover is an exception, not the norm.

I like everything about this car except I’m still not able to trust Korean cars in terms of reliability … another 2 reviewers on KZbin got a broken transmission after “27 miles”, but it has been replaced under warranty, otherwise it’s about $ 8,800 .. it’s a Dual Clutch Transmission which’s a common area of debate when it comes to its reliability anyway.
