I love watching your videos but I couldn’t agree less with these assessments!! I just drove the 2024 models highest trim for Atlas, 2023 traverse (bc they don’t have a 2024 model), Telluride, Pilot, Highlander and Grand Cherokee. Hands down, the 2024 Pathfinder Platinum was the most comfortable, best tech/comfort with features, 80 cubic ft storage, but also sporty and stylish. Incredible car, by far the best from those we drove. We ended up purchasing white w/black trim Platinum model. Insanely great car, plus safest for children!!
@michaelmi790311 ай бұрын
I have the new pathfinder and love it, but I can understand why it didn't make the top 10. It's third row and cargo space are smaller than anything on this list aside from the Highlander. Only one engine option knocks it down, along with the 8 or 9 inch screen options. I do agree that it's exterior aesthetics is probably best in class (this is of course totally subjective), and the interior is nicely laid out and functional. All that said, I think it's just too small for a family that will regularly use a third row.
@CarConfections11 ай бұрын
Thank you... Don't get us wrong, we still really like the Pathfinder! It's just that with 2 of the 5 categories emphasizing space, that is the Pathfinders weakest area. Everyone has different priorities but we just tried to pick the 5 most important ones to the average customer 👍
@michaelmi790311 ай бұрын
@@CarConfections yep, as a 2022 pathfinder owner I totally agree with your assessment. We're a family of 5 and the pathfinder is the smaller of our 2 SUVs. That's not to say it doesn't work as a 3 row SUV, there are just numerous, far better options in the segment for size & space.
@Stillway200617 күн бұрын
@michaelmi7903 I was waiting for that last sentence...I drove a new Pathfinder as a rental week3 weeks while I waited for the dealership to ship the 22 3LT Traverse I wanted and I must say that the Traverse is WAY bigger in the 3rd row and cargo department and I LOVE it
@jamess.916417 күн бұрын
Actually what isn’t mentioned is the amount of true back seat (middle) space is in pathfinder. It has more than several of the SUVs ranked higher. I can sit on the floor and change my baby on the seat and have tons of room and I am 6’2”. I understand if you are always using the 3rd seat if there is a better option but if you are only using it once in a while, Pathfinder is THE car to get. Also, Model Y is an incredible vehicle as well.

NEW YORK, Sept 8 (Reuters) - Toyota Motor Corp (7203.T) reached a settlement potentially worth $150 million to resolve U.S. class-action litigation tied to recalls of about 3.36 million Toyota and Lexus vehicles whose defective fuel pumps could cause engines to stall. A preliminary settlement was filed on Wednesday night in federal court in Brooklyn. It requires a judge's approval. The settlement covers owners and lessees of dozens of Toyota and Lexus vehicle models manufactured in the 2013 to 2020 model years and equipped with Denso low-pressure fuel pumps. Honda Recalls: Brake and Rearview Camera Defects Honda recently issued recalls for various models due to brake and rearview camera defects. These recalls address potential safety hazards that can result in accidents and injuries. Unexpected Loss of Brake Function: Honda recalled over 124,000 Civic, Passport, and Pilot vehicles, including certain model year 2020-2021 Civic, 2020-2023 Ridgeline, 2021-2023 Passport, 2021-2022 Pilot, and 2020 Acura MDX vehicles. The recall was prompted by concerns that the vehicles could experience an unexpected loss of brake function, increasing the risk of a crash. Defective Brake Holds: Another recall impacted nearly 400 model year 2023 Civic, Accord, Acura RDX, and Acura Integra vehicles. These vehicles were manufactured with defective brake holds, leading to potential movement while the brake hold is activated. Honda plans to notify impacted vehicle owners by mail, starting from July 24. Rearview Camera Concerns: Honda recalled over 1.1 million Odyssey, Pilot, and Passport vehicles due to defective rearview cameras that may not display properly. This recall applies to model year 2018-2023 Honda Odyssey, 2019-2022 Honda Pilot, and 2019-2023 Honda Passport vehicles. A non-functional rearview camera can compromise the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash or injury. Class Action Lawsuits against Honda In addition to the recalls, Honda is facing class action lawsuits that allege serious defects in its vehicles' components. Variable Timing Control Actuator Defect: A class action lawsuit filed against Honda claims that the automaker knowingly sold vehicles with defective variable timing control actuators. The alleged defect, affecting model year 2012-2014 CR-Vs, 2012 Accords, and 2012-2015 Crosstours, can lead to catastrophic engine failure and poses a safety hazard. Defective Electric Power Steering Systems: Two separate class action lawsuits were filed against Honda, asserting that model year 2022-2023 Honda Civic vehicles were manufactured with defective electric power steering systems. These systems may "stick," requiring an increase in steering effort, leading to overcorrections and potential collisions. Electric Braking System Sticking: Another class action lawsuit argues that Honda sold model year 2022-2023 Honda Civic vehicles with electric braking systems that can stick at highway speeds. This alleged defect can cause vehicle owners to overcorrect, increasing the risk of collisions.

They spent more time at the dealer than in our lot, and the ones that remained and all had some type of warning lights in the center cluster. My family got a brand new Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy. Safe to say we will never purchase a Hyundai again. While driving in a city 6hrs away from home the car suffered a catastrophic manufacturers error where the engine literally fell due to a poorly heat treated transmission mount. While being repaired by a Hyundai dealer they told us that if we were going at 60 mph which we were about to do, the car could've ended our lives as the engine falling at that speed would disable speed, braking, and airbags. We are absolutely furious as this is a brand new 2024 Palisade of the highest trim level. We have already gotten a lawyer and are suing Hyundai motor company for giving us a dangerous vehicle. Absolutely dangerous vehicle that I would not recommend. Do not let its flashy interior fool you.

If you wanted a luxury 3 row SUV, there are far better ones that are not listed here which I completely understand. I am sure you guys will likely do a video for luxury SUV's at some point. Also there should be a design category because the Chevy Traverse, Hyundai Palisade, Jeep Grand Cherokee and Mazda CX 90 are better than the rest in design. If you'd included that the resaults would have been much different..

I will never buy a Ford again. Bought a brand new 2022 Ford Escape. Had nothing but problems with the engine and transmission since I bought it. It's been in the repair shop four times. Luckily all repairs were under warranty. Ford paid me out $12,000 for the car being a piece of dung

It really depends on the quality, I know someone who drives a 2013 Ford Escape and it’s still going after 300K miles with rarely having issues. At least ford is better than the Hitler-founded company aka Volkswagen which has nothing but unlimited service lights on the dash

Clearly, palisade designed thrid row with heated seats to feature high on this channel. On a serious note, this compares the features on the spec sheet, but fails to acknowledge the intangibles, safety and reliability that are key when you invest > $50K

Totally disagree with them. Seems like cargo space was more important than reliability, performance, handling, and driving excitement. I drove all of them and to me, here is which I would pick. 1 Mazda 2 Toyota Grand Highlander 3 Toyota Highlander 4 Honda Pilot Rest, I don't care for

yay! I bought the CX90 and it is reallly good!
@CarConfections11 ай бұрын
It was, as we only scored in the 5 most important categories for the average customer in this segment. While we completely agree on a personal level that performance and handling should be considered, the average person in this class cares about them far less than cargo space, 3rd row and features. Hope this clears up where the ranking numbers are derived from 👍
@nj644111 ай бұрын
Agree with Carconfections. Most buyers in this segment need the space and a good 3 row both if which are not good for mazda. If you don't care for those then yes mazda is good.

What is the rating of the Volvo CX90 with 3 rows of seats? thank you
@huanronghu443210 ай бұрын
Great video guys. Honestly, the GMC Acadia should be compared with other luxury 3 row SUVs. If the Lexus TX is gonna be the only vehicle of its size to be in the midsize luxury suv category without the redesigned GMC Acadia, you might as well move the TX to compete with the full size Category due to the 3rd row space and cargo volume rivaling other full size suvs too besides the extra length american ones

I appreciate your efforts to sort out these 3-row SUVs. I agree with your ordering, but as you said, some people will have different priorities, and for me, a 2nd row bench seat is a requirement *as well as* all the bells and whistles of the top-trim offerings. That reduces my options to exactly *three* of the options in your list: Explorer, Pilot and Atlas (I've heard Atlas offers what I want but I've never checked it out because of the poor reliability - Explorer does, but reliability removes it from my list.) Are you guys aware of any other 3-row unibody SUVs that meet my criteria? I think Pathfinder is also available in top trim with a 2nd-row bench seat but once again the reliability is just not there. We'll see about the Traverse and Acadia, but given that Tahoe 2nd row seats are captains chairs in top trims, I expect the same for both these two.
@shashankshekhar261111 ай бұрын
right about explorer, avoid at all costs, my colleague owns one, it is really a poor vehicle

@@FizzerTT21Thanks for that. I'll add it to the list. I'm getting older so I'd like to go with a Japanese vehicle so that I spend most of my time driving and very little time at the service department. Perhaps it's time for me to start leasing cars to avoid these issues and be able to buy any vehicle regardless of brand.

Thanks for not making the entire video about 0-60 acceleration. As though someone was going to pack their entire family into the car and then try to accelerate to highway speeds as quickly as possible. I would rank differently though, because overall size is actually a downer for me. I want to seat 6 people in the smallest amount of cubic space possible because I want to be able to park in the smallest space possible. My kids are little, they can take a little third row seat, but that car isn't going to park itself.

I have been driving the Grand Highlander Hybrid Max for 6 months now. No problems whatsoever. One thing I do note, sometimes when I step on the petal, it feels like the gearbox doesn't shift into place. Like the car is on neutral and won't accelerate. But when I let go and step on it again, it shifts and takes off. I never felt this before in another car. Have anyone seen this before?
