Just did "water spot removal" on my Jeep JK with Meguiars Ultimate Compound. I was able to remove OLD water spots BY HAND, (don't have one of those electric thing-ama-jigs")! This compound worked perfectly and left the paint looking shiny and new! I have watched a few KZbin videos comparing different chemical solutions for removing water spots, but none of them included this stuff! It works by hand, well enough, but I suggest getting an electric polisher.

I am watching your channel for some time now and can truly say, that your way of explaining and demonstrating car detailing is in evidence of your fantastic skill and professionalism. Also, I have to admit that my cleaning and polishing products have now been converted from Autoglym to Meguire's. Keep up the great work.

6 years late but nonetheless, I have studied your cleaning and polishing for beginners video multiple times and now I find this when I was looking at getting these two products...the sole fact that you find these to be good and had good results with them is enough for me to get them. Some reviews on the shop sites say these products leave streaks and marks etc, but your seal of approval so to speak weighs a lot more. Thanks for this!

You are right about making sure you work this stuff in long enough. I've used this a lot and the biggest mistake I've made when I first used it was not buffing long enough. I found it work best using a DA and going until the compound almost turns clear and is barely visible. Also....I found that it was critical to make sure when you wipe it off, you switch micro fiber clothes fairly often. Using the same one will end up just smearing it around if the cloth is coated with the stuff. I went through a dozen or so doing a complete truck. Thanks for vid!
@jaymekarina2 ай бұрын
Did you use a damp cloth? I’m using a DA and by the time I got to it to wipe off it was practically tar 😭
@SK-pn1pe2 ай бұрын
@@jaymekarina I think if you have that much product still on the surface to wipe off....then you're probably using too much or not buffing long enough. It should almost be gone when you stop buffing. You are basically wiping down the panel of any tiny amounts or smudges, etc. Shouldn't be any real product left...if that makes sense.

Thank you thank you thank you for the detail in this video. My favorite part was when you explained that it is based off an original compound, and made to be more user friendly and forgiving. Hearing this makes it feel safer to use, and that's really important when you're talking about the difference between damaging and not damaging your paint. Obviously most of us aren't professionals, but know that just like painting your walls, it can be done by yourself with the right tools. Anyways thanks again great video 👍

There are no fillers in Ultimate Compound but Ultimate Polish have both fillers and abrasives. So with Ultimate Polish some minor defects will get removed and some gets filled. It's kind of mixture of M205 and one of their glaze product which I don't remember now.

It looked pretty good, but not perfect and I was considering using the compound but didn't want to be too aggressive on my paint. If you are Meguiar's professional line fan, you should still keep it in stock because sometimes UC (Ultimate Compound) works much better for soft paints as compared to M105. UC is derived from M105 but with more working time and its aggressiveness is 6 on professional line of scale. M105 is 12 and M205 is 4 on aggressiveness scale. So UC is somewhere between M105 and M205. This is reason I mentioned you must keep it in stock even if you are a professional. It helps in lot of scenarios. You must always do test sections and see which is better in your scenario.

I've watched a few of your videos and I like your work and the way you explain things, Good Job.....But I'm surprised that you've given these products such high praise. Meguiars must be looking after you. My car needed a light compound and as I had some Ultimate/VFO Compound on hand I decided to use it, thinking that it wouldn't be too aggressive. It eventually did the job. I used my 75mm DA Polisher and it was very difficult to get off and continually clogged up the sponge pad. Ambient temperature was 22 degrees. I tried different speeds, different amounts of compound, worked on an area no bigger than A4 size. The car has some original '03 paint, some '09 and some '17 paint on it. Slow and Tedious. Then I used the Ultimate Polish. Initially I thought I'd use the DA with a soft pad. Same thing, small area, a few passes and then you couldn't get it all off, then had to hand polish those bits off so I gave that idea away. Again, Slow and Tedious. For the last 12 years or so I've used Meguiars Medium Cut and Fine Cut blended together and then Wet Look. Both very effective and easy to use. These UnUltimate products are just too difficult to use. Maybe the Ultimate Compound only works with the Micro Fibre Pad that you used? And the Polish with the Orange Pad. I used Orange on the Compound and Blue with the Polish. The final polish with Meguiars Canuba Wax was a breeze. Easy on, Easy Off.

Sonax Perfect Finish on a very mild pad. And clean the pads frequently or change them out.

So glad I found your channel. You're up there with Ammo NYC, but better because you review products available in Australia. Yay!
