I have done this for twelve years with water based jewelling polishes and silica based sealants via rotary and random and the au-bf falcons and 2006 back subaru models trims love this process.

I would never think to do this apart from just using trim dressings. I'm going to give this a try on my next detail of my car 😁

Do you have any videos on plastic chrome trim around these windows? Love the content
@CarCraftAutoDetailing Жыл бұрын
No nothing specific, but you can use a metal polish or fine car paint polish to help restore them. Just don’t heavily compound them as they usually have a thin plating that can come off if you’re too aggressive.

I clicked this video because my Jeep Patriot has faded trim like that. And the test car IS a friggin Patriot! Thank you

Hi Sandro!! Would this also work on stains following a too long dwell time with TarX? During decontamination the smallest amount must have been left, only for a minute... but the roof carrier rails (dark grey) on either side of my car are now almost white... gutted. Any tips? Thnx man!!
@CarCraftAutoDetailing Жыл бұрын
Yes it could work, but maybe something like Solution Finish could be another good option if they are really whitened up.

I can't find the polishes you are using. Is there any alternative ones?
@CarCraftAutoDetailing2 жыл бұрын
There’s loads like Meguiars M205, Scholl S30+, Shine Supply classic polish, really almost any car polish.

Most of the trim around windows are rubber though, arent they?
@Ashley-dy7bx6 жыл бұрын
To me, it just seems like the oil from the Polish is soaking into the plastic and darkening the trim. You can see this happen at 1:36 in the video. The trim turns instantly black when the polish is initially applied without agitation. I can't imagine it lasting more than 1 week.

I thought that trims around windows are some type of rubber, not plastic.
