Beautiful ride. Aside from the rack, I'd do the same mods. Though, seeing the side view of the Monkey, maybe I would get the rack! Thanks for sharing

Nice vid, thanks! Since seeing your first vid on the Yoshi & Ohlin install, I bought a '22 model in yellow. The gold mirror extenders (with laser-etched chimp) were the first accessories to go on, followed by a lowered guard mount from Kitaco along with an 'Extenda fender' from Pyramid UK. I also have, still in boxes, an RS-3 Yoshi and Ohlins ready to install when TIME permits! 🙂 I got a chrome rack too, but it was the heavier type and a little larger but still in character with Monkey. I agree with keeping everything reversible as with such a beastie it is important due to the history of the bike. I didn't go the air intake or flash (I was VERY close though) as it just got too hard with MNNTHBX making it difficult to get the flash done in America and so forth - too hard, so I just went with Yoshi and settled on a K&N filter in the std box and some beautiful TYGA pure carbon fibre side panels for the airbox. Looks a treat! Thanks again for your vids and your bike looks fantastic - a real keeper that will probably outlast us both - as mine will too probably 🙂🙂

Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed the video, I think it’s one of my favourites as it really highlights the beauty of this little bike. Sounds like you did some nice and similar mods so I know they sound compliment the bike well and I think once you get the exhaust and shocks on you’ll enjoy what they add, but even stock standard, it’s still a gem to be enjoyed!

I absolutely love these but you should not get rid of the original parts (store them somewhere). Not sure if you ever had these in Australia but I have an original candy red Honda Dax with 2700km in my living room. It also has the chrome mudguards, exhaust and is in almost mint condition. A lot of kids here bought these in the 1970's and got rid of them when they had their drivers license and then bought a car. Later on they discovered that the bike was part of their youth and they regretted selling it. The design is timeless and you should keep it forever. I am very happy that Honda has decided to make these again. (btw I am in my 50's)

Could you elaborate on the difference in top speed and acceleration by your mods?
@CarCraftAutoDetailing6 ай бұрын
Most of the extra acceleration is noticed in the mid range, it’s not what you’ll call significant, but is moderately noticeable. I’d say the top speed increase was between 5-10km per hr - again it’s nothing crazy but taking some of the same routes I was able to hit slightly higher top speeds. I wouldn’t do these mods if significant speed increases are your goal, it’s more about enjoying how they make the bike sound, feel and add character.
@jeronimomoors6 ай бұрын
@@CarCraftAutoDetailingThanks! Only thing I'd like to adjust to, is the ability to get to 100km/h gps speed on the highway. Bit of extra acceleration would be nice, but the main goal.

Great looking bike. How did all the upgrades affect the fuel consumption?
@CarCraftAutoDetailing4 ай бұрын
Thanks and I can’t say I’ve really noticed much of a difference in fuel consumption but I would expect it to drink a touch more than stock.

Hi 👋 Sir, super duper cute bike. Did the fuel mileage change in yoshi/air filter/stage 1 ecu combo configuration, and how much?
@CarCraftAutoDetailing16 күн бұрын
Thanks, but I honestly haven’t noticed a difference during normal riding - if I do keep the revs up then maybe it does drink 10-15% more at best.
@leokline35412 жыл бұрын
How many miles do you have on your Monkey? I have 5000 on my 2021 blue monkey in two years. l love the look of your bike. I modified mine some but I like to be quiet so stock exhaust for me. I also have the same tachometer and K&N filter. I live in Ohio and ride this bike whenever the weather permits. I have six bikes and this is still my favorite.
@CarCraftAutoDetailing2 жыл бұрын
I’m glad you’re enjoying it, sounds like it brings you a lot joy! We here in Victoria Australia were lawfully banned from riding or driving for recreational purposes for the best part of two years so being that my Monkey isn’t a commuter (I take highways to work) it was largely stored over that period and has about 2500 on the odometer.

Can you tell me how these upgrades have changed the gas consumption ?
@CarCraftAutoDetailing Жыл бұрын
I think it’s given me the ability to use less fuel if I’m easy on the throttle and stick to the lower/mid rev range. But at the same time if I accelerate hard and ride the engine at higher RPMs it’s also given me the ability to use more fuel than stock. Honestly fuel consumption is so low on this bike regardless, but these mods can safe you fuel or make you use a little more depending on how you work the gears, throttle and rpm’s.

@@ilikechickensausages2075 How does sitting on the Monkey make the chain tighter??
@rodneysweetnam86533 ай бұрын
Hi - it's Big Rodders in Ireland. I have a 2020 yellow Monkey with 11000 miles. The chain should have 35mm play in the lower run and yes that makes it look somewhat loose. However, Honda specify that for a reason and with this play the gear changes are perfect and there are no transmission issues. It pays to be fastidious in adjusting the chain.
