Jet streaks/smears like crazy in warm weather. Even my gf notices the haze on my car surface after jet is applied. Beadmaker has more gloss than lustre. Boost is just a specific cleaning agent for coated surfaces. I have used jet n lustre and went back to bm n paint gloss on my ppf. The remaining jet is used as a drying aid on my windows.
@ZetaTango835 жыл бұрын
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Yea i guess its the material(ppf) that i'm applying to and the hot climate that does not give me a good experience with jet. I need to use a damp towel to fully wipe off and it feels very grabby after that. Lustre, Bm and paint gloss are very slick during the final buff:) Definitely recommended for paint n ppf!

Hi Sandro, I hope you are doing well. One question, How can I wash the car without removing nova jet? Is water pressure safe to use? how about using a wet sponge or towel?
@CarCraftAutoDetailing Жыл бұрын
Using a pressure washer is absolutely fine and ideal, also a a pure car wash (with no interfering additives) like Nv Snow also at the correct dilution - 1:200 in a wash bucket is again ideal after the pressure rinse down to remove the looser dirt. You can also use Nv Boost V1 or V2 to maintain it after maintenance washes if you wish.

@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Thank you so much for this great instruction! Is it okay if I use Nova Jet ( not the boost) after each wash?
@CarCraftAutoDetailing Жыл бұрын
Yes, but I would personally recommend mixing Jet in a separate bottle with 50% deionised water (so 1:1) and use that after maintenance washes and you can use the full strength every couple of months as a general routine.

@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Thank you! I understand. But may I know the reason?
@CarCraftAutoDetailing Жыл бұрын
In my experience car paint will only except a certain amount of a wax, sealant, or coating, so at a certain point you’re wasting product as it predominately won’t bond - this can also change the user experience leading to things like smearing and more difficult wipe offs. At 1:1 or even 1:2 Jet stars to become more like a quick detailer, so you’re just topping up what’s been worn by the elements over a week or two, rather than trying to stack layers the paint can’t for the most part except. It also tends to increase the ease of application making a maintenance top up quick and easy.

Hello I have a question I need help with. I live in the United States and just recieved my order of NV JET and NV BOOST. My truck is coated with Cquartz UK 3.0 for a year now and I use reload as a topper. I will be decontaminating the surface and re-polishing with carpro essence plus. OK so I have 1 1/2 bottles of reload left and don't want to waste it. Would you recommend I use reload as fist layer over coating then JET then BOOST since the carpro products with sio2 would all be meshed together. I would love any help please.

I have traditionally used Jescar power lock and used various toppers over the years with the most recent being beadmaker. I am looking for something exactly like this. Thank you for the video and coupon. Using the all 3 method, is it safe on trim and glass, and will this be equal or better than my power lock step? Can I use the boost as a drying aid after each maintenance wash rather than a dry application and get close to the same results. Thanks Again

Going to test this system on my car vs Carpro system with UK 3.0 on my dads side by side for the next year. Testing my theory to see if coating still makes sense in 2019/2020. If my car holds up as good as a car treated with cquartz uk 3.0 and topped with reload. If it works as well I might have to call consumer coatings dead for the time being. Luckily we both have the same car. Around the same age. Should be a like for like comparison.
@hayden1995164 жыл бұрын
Did you end up testing, if so what were the results?
@Brian_N4 жыл бұрын
Hayden Mcfarland yeah I did the carpro is a little more slick than my car with the NV trio of spray ons. The carpro also seems to sheet water better than the NV. Beading on the NV is great but yeah at the same time I think the carpro has a better balance of beading and sheeting from what I can tell. So yeah I think the carpro has a slight edge overall even thought more of a pain to apply. Traditional coatings still may still have their days number though. At least in my book. There is some stuff that should be announced at SEMA this year (if there is one). That should be pretty awesome. I can’t say exactly what it is. But I have tested in person. Super easy wipe on wipe off and a unique carrier of the SiO2 that is totally different than the rest of the market. Should last around a year maybe two I am told. We will see!

Just got Jet. It must be fairly benign because i had a lot of streaks (due to incomplete buff-off), but this was easily removed hours later by spraying with an ONR solution (1:256) and gently wiping off. (I suspect plain water would have worked too). It is very hydrophobic though which is great. I'll see how it goes.
@gregsullivan74082 жыл бұрын
Update: I've just done another area, taking more time to prep, and paying more attention as I went along. It's actually very easy to buff off, requiring very little pressure on the cloth. I was able to almost get away with simply wiping it on until it disappeared, without flipping the cloth. (I still did, just to be safe). It dries & flashes off very rapidly, so it's best to spread it rapidly, to get the most out of the product.

I just received luster. I tried to apply it to my newly coated GTechniq CSL (washed twice and used Adams CS3 Graphene as drying aid). It seems to be very streaky. Wiping away the residue with multiple towels and I can see a thin film of it streaking in any direction I wipe the towel. Hard to tell if its streaking against the other toppers or what. I've had issues in the past with this thin film streaking on CSL with certain products.
@CarCraftAutoDetailing3 жыл бұрын
Yes I’ve also seen this happen with certain coating and sealant combinations. Sometimes if you let it sit after buffing it it can further self level in a few minutes, and other times using just a very slightly damp towel can help further level it down. Other times you just have accept that it’s just not going to happen. But what I’ve also found is that as the coatings starts to age it should start to accept top layers a little better.

Grabbed my bottle of lustre from the back of the cabinet on the weekend to add LSP after a one step polish on a clients car. They were thinking of selling it but after seeing it they are most likely going to hold onto it for a while longer. The car looked fantastic. Lustre to me is the glossiest slickest spray coating around. I only stopped using it as i keep buying the latest thing to see what its like. Lustre got pushed to the back but has now come back to where it always should hsve been, front and centre. What confuses me a bit is layering other products on top. If lustre looks so glossy and its so slick, wouldn't adding Jet, mask those properties?

@rooboy99 no, Jet and Lustre are still the very same formulas they released when the Nv brand was first launched - I think they are examples of getting something right the first time and not messing with it. I’ve tested Evo against so many other consumer coatings and it typically outperforms most coatings that claim far longer durability - so don’t let a brand’s claims determine truth, as most of those claims tend to be over inflated 🙂

You certainly don’t have to correct the paint before using then, a good wash and decontamination can do wonders in preparation, but correction will obviously help in further improving and preparing the paint for any paint protection and getting a little more out of them. At the moment i have use the first two kits ( i mean the soft99 and carpro ) and to tell you the true i think Soft99 beats by far the carpro kit. The 3 and 4 from yours experience will be better? Hi George, that’s really great to hear and I really appreciate the kind feedback! Gyeon can coat is actually a true ceramic coating so you will probably find it lasts longer than all the rest, and I think it’s actually pretty good overall. I haven’t used Q2M ceramic detailer, just Cure so I can say what it’s like. You probably know that I love Lustre and Jet so I do tend to recommend them, but if longevity is more important, then can coat should last the longest, Lustre may give you more gloss and Jet will tend to be the most hydrophobic, so in the end it depends what’s most important to you!

Hey Sandro...was hope you could help me with some advice. If I didn’t have the option to do paint correction would you still recommend do all other paint preparation and using the Jet/ Lustre combo? Specifically, I was wondering if I should clay the car with concern that I may add scratches or marring prior to applying these products considering I won’t be compounding or polishing. Would you say to still go for it and do all standard decon steps to best prepare paint for application? Thx for all the help you provide us!
@CarCraftAutoDetailing3 жыл бұрын
Yes I’d still tend to recommend doing a full decontamination as removing fallout and traffic film is important to do periodically for the well being and health of the paint and it will obviously also help produce a better bond with your paint protection products. Unless the paint is very soft you shouldn’t cause too much marring with clay, but using something like Nv Finesse or another light polish even by hand should take care of any clay marring and additionally deep clean the paint which should also further improve or the performance of Jet and Lustre and boost the gloss and clarity of the paint, but it’s not mandatory.

If I were to use polish Angel High Gloss as a topper which one the 2 sealants would be better? I would think jet no?

High Gloss would probably be closer to Lustre so Jet may be a better base option.

Hey Sandro, old clip i know, but is lustre able to be applied on convertible soft top or should i look for something else? Thx
@CarCraftAutoDetailing2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I’ve tried all 3 on various vinyl and fabric materials and they all seemed to apply and level down quite well. On a more fabric type soft top Lustre won’t tend to display the same amount of gloss or saturation or last quite as long but it can still improve and protect the finish. If your looking for something more long term you could try Carpro Skin as a base layer and even use Lustre over it from time to time.

Hi Sandro, you sold me on these and I was able to order all the way from Israel using NVs US rep. I have Gyeon Cancoat applied about 3 weeks ago, would really like to top it up with Lustre for that extra gloss/slickness (highly metallic white paint), would the hydrophobicity of Cancoat be decreased with Lustre? Have you ever tried topping a ceramic with it? Greetings from Israel, I’m a big fan of your videos!
@CarCraftAutoDetailing8 ай бұрын
Lustre’s strongest characteristics are its super high gloss and slickness, its hydrophobicity is still very good but may not be as hydrophobic as CanCoat. The new Boost V2 may be worth a go as it’s really a balance of both Lustre and Jet and will be extremely Hydrophobic if that’s top of your list.
@rotemshoshani4248 ай бұрын
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing so topping cancoat with it would mask the hydrophobic properties..? Might do a test panel and see if i enjoy it, 2nd car has Fusso on it and IMO slickness and self cleaning seem touch superior to cancoat, i like the feel of w drying towel on it and thought Lustre on top of cancoat would be able to achieve that Thanks for taking the time to reply! ❤️

Are these products something you can use over Clear Coating and or Ceramic Coating? Or would it be best to use a wash that strips coating off the car then apply these products?

You can really use them either way as they will tend to bond quite well to existing coatings or work equally well when applied to bare paint.

@@CarCraftAutoDetailing I know this is probably a wild question, but say your nearest self service car wash bay was 10-15 minutes away from your house. Would you wash/dry your car there and then apply your coating/sealant and then drive home? Or wash/Dry the car, drive back home, touch up any small imperfections from driving it back home and then apply your coating/sealant in your garage? I’m just thinking about Cure time. If I applied Nova boost or Nova Lustre at the self service bay would driving it back home mess up the curing (bug splatter, possible water on roads, etc..)
@CarCraftAutoDetailing3 жыл бұрын
I’d personally try to apply it before driving off. All the Nova spray coatings cure extremely quickly and I don’t think a drive home is going to compromise them all that much.

I have coated a black roof with Cquartz lite and then Reload. Have used BOOST as a topper but have found that once the car gets hot or out in the sun it seems to fog up. It can be wiped off but will reoccur again. A non BOOST area shows no sign of fogging. Wonder if anyone else has experienced this. Hey Sandro, I’m about to coat my car with UK 3.0 and I was thinking of topping with Lustre, as apposed to gliss. Should I just go with gliss and spend the bit extra or will I see good results with Lustre? longevity won’t be quite as good, but It should perform similarly? Thanks
@CarCraftAutoDetailing3 жыл бұрын
I honestly think you’ll enjoy either but I guess it comes down to what you’ve asked. Gliss is more of a hybrid coating specifically made for UK and CQuartz coatings that should last longer. Lustre is just beautiful, but not specifically made for UK and you will most likely be applying it more often. So considering those things it really comes down to what you’re after out of a top coat 🙂
@cheyne_clk5003 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate, I think I’ll go with lustre. I don’t mind applying it more often, and I’ll have extra left over to use for other vehicles. How long should I wait after applying UK to top with lustre?
