Great video Sandro, and greetings from Kentucky, USA! After watching this video, YES, I definitely found this video VERY USEFUL. I'd really like to try the Nv Nova EVO. It looks to be a superior ceramic coating, not that Myabi Coat isn't a great coating as well. Both of them are probably superior, upper level coatings. But for me, after watching your test comparison here, Nova EVO looks like the one i'd personally like to give a go. While I personally have never used a "true" ceramic coating, I have used several of the products I call "quasi" ceramic coatings. They are labeled as "ceramic" but they are probably just Si02 infused sealants. Probably the closest I have used to a "coating" I guess, would be Dr. Beasley's 1201 which for me, is a great sealant-coating, or whatever you want to label the product. With good prep, 1201 is a great product, especially when it's a garage kept vehicle as my own, and topped frequently with Dr. Beasley's AdvanceCoat: GLOSS. They pair perfectly together and give you tremendous durability, especially for a home enthusiast who did the install myself. But I think i'm ready to jump onto the full COATING bandwagon now, and if NV Nova EVO is a consumer (non-Professional installed only) product that an enthusiast such as myself can purchase, you have definitely made up my mind. I've been pondering the whole true ceramic coating dilemma for quite a while now. Although, with the way I maintain my vehicle (this is my garage kept sports car i'm talking about here and NOT my daily drivers), I can get a really long durability out of a sealant maintained with a topper so I really haven't seen the need to jump onto the full coating bandwagon. Also, I felt quite intimidated by the whole installation process although I've watched so many different videos on the subject (literally hundreds over the past few years), I feel like a pro at doing it by now, and I do feel comfortable with my own level of detailing experience that I feel that I would do an OK job at doing the installation myself with little problems most likely. Thank you for this video Sandro and helping to steer my decision on installing NV Nova EVO the next time I do a full decontamination, prep, and polish on my vehicle. As always, looking forward to your next video and always the best to you my friend.

I have never been disappointed from any comparison of any NV product so far.. Evo has shown this again.. If I'm biased it anything is C-Quarts UK 3.0 as it's really the only thing I can afford and feel is worth buying to use at it's price. Sure there are cheaper but UK seems good, it does well according to everyone and if I finally decided to use a coating that will be the one. I looked at their lite version but for the extra $3 the UK seems better to me as the light really seems to be more akin to a stronger spray ceramic than a coating in my opinion.

thanks for all the time and effort putting this together. I have a question that's kind of a tangent. You know what I don't see from any detailers are videos about how you detail a car that already has a good ceramic coat on it that is working fine. Say someone brings the car back in a year later, the coating is still great, but they want it to look spectacular for a big event or something. Do you still machine polish it over the ceramic coating? Is there any special thing you do to make sure you don't rub off the coating? That might be a cool video idea.
@CarCraftAutoDetailing3 жыл бұрын
I think that could be a good future video to do, but no I wouldn’t polish over coating unless I’m removing it and staring again, the basic process would be a good intensive clean followed by a top layer sealant.

I absolutely love your videos, but I have to chime in about something that I believe is constructive. Lately you've been showing a zoomed in view of the side of a panel when you're applying a coating and in the top left corner you have the standard overhead view. The zoomed in side view makes it very difficult to see what the product looks like and I find myself squinting to try to see the picture-in-picture view at the top left. This smaller view you're showing is what you've used in many previous videos and it shows exactly how the product looks when being applied (how thin or thick it is, if it's flashing quickly or slowly, and anything else). May I make a suggestion? I'd like to see you reverse this and put the overhead view as being the full screen shot of the product application and the side view being the picture-in-picture at the top left. I say all of this in kindness and really appreciate all of the time, effort and energy you labor into these videos for your viewership. Thanks for being a big help to me in my detailing business.

@CarCraftAutoDetailing4 жыл бұрын
They’re all a little different, Snow is a great pure general maintenance wash for ceramic or non ceramic coated cars, while Reset is more geared towards ceramic coated or at least SiO2 based sealants both for maintenance or light decon washes, while Snow+ is really more of a periodic decon wash product that won’t effect a ceramic coating but it can strip waxes and sealants, so it’s great to use just before you apply a fresh top coat to you’re paint.

Hey man, As long as I like your videos, this comparison seems to me little bit tricky, nova EVO is a hybrid coating and miyabi is most of inorganic. Miyabi is made not for hydrofobity, but as a primer and making deeper gloss effect. 2. The hydrofobity is not the measurement if the coating is removed or not. To make a legit test is to compare Evo with Zipang or ISM PRO. take care bro 🙂
@visi56494 жыл бұрын
Hi Sandro! Great video! Just playing devils advocate here (not a criticism) but I was a bit disappointed with the results of the Kamikaze Collection Miyabi Coat! (conscious of your comment of brand fans). In your video you said that you let it cure for a few minutes prior to levelling but my understanding with Miyabi Coat is that it needs to cure for between 5-10 minutes (depending on temp) prior to levelling to get full bonding. Not to question your vast experience (as I say this is just a positive observation) but you say it was cold when you done this test so it may have needed closer to 10 mins bonding time! Could this be why it may not have performed outstandingly in this test? My experience with a Miyabi is much better gloss, colour saturation, chemical resistance, and hydrophobics. Great work! I know these videos aren’t easy to put together but please keep it up ...

Hi Sandro. What’s the average life for NV Nova Evo coating? I just put it on my rims and they look amazing
@CarCraftAutoDetailing3 жыл бұрын
I would say up to three years is about right on car paint, potentially longer if the car is always garaged and regularly washes with safe methods, and potentially shorter if it’s always outside and perhaps not maintained as well, but how well the paint was prepped before hand is also extremely important and using products like Boost, Jet and Lustre can also extend its life. On car rims it’s always going to be less durable (as with all coatings) but if they were polished and well prepped 12-18mths is definitely doable.

Hi as we are here in UK the Nv Nova Evo is not avilable. I'm interested at the beginning to apply Miyabi Coat to my new car due to many good review of shiny and glossy candy wet look, together with the VOC-free carrier. However after reading your test, I doubt the Miyabi coat is lack in surface slickness and weak in chemical resistant, as well as slow in water beading. Will you still recommend Miyabi Coat or any brand (e.g. CarPro or GTechiq as they are hype in coating industry) regarding slickness, candy look and apply difficulty? Thanks.
@CarCraftAutoDetailing4 жыл бұрын
Miyabi can be a great first coating to apply and work with and although it may not have faired as good as Evo, it’s still a great coating. Evo was update about 18mths ago which included the addition of some graphene to its make up. I don’t like the fact that many coating brands now do the same thing but push that it’s a graphene coating when it’s really not. Evo is still a quartz or glass based coating with many additional ingredients one of which is graphene which is fine list, but it would be misleading to push that fact or claim that it contains enough to make it a dominant factor in its performance. That’s the reason I don’t like to push that fact, I like honest brands.

Car Craft Auto Detailing or anyone here from Australia, could you please recommend the best Australian online store for car detailing products? I live in Tasmania, and the local stores only have a limited variety of products?

I actually used that combination on an Audi RS4 last year and last heard a few months ago, it’s still holding up very well. Just make saw you give SlickBack a good 3-4 hrs to set before coating over it.
