Amazing work, thank you for sharing! I’m sure they do take a long time and lots of patience. But if you’re not too shy I’d love to see a video or two with maybe some tips for papercraft/cardboard practices you use to get such accuracy. Things to consider, ways of cutting and measuring that may help cardboard artist like me. Even the design part on computer I’m curious about your process. Either way thank you, it’s such a treat to watch this kind of craftsmanship.

I admire your work ethic. I haven't had the commitment to complete something like this for many years. The music isn't something I typically listen to, and it was great to hear something new that wasn't just yanked from the KZbin library.

Thank You :) I just very recently started to handle time consuming projects and work. Before it was hard for me to do something that takes more then 4-8 hours. I think I started to enjoy it with my first skull project. Talking about music I listen a lot of music and very different kind of music but most of it is from the dark side. About SKD he is from my country and I have heard him live more then few times. And i was wondering if he will agree to allow his music in my video. I found a way to contact with him and he liked my previous video and agreed. So now this music is in my video :) i think I will continue using his music of course if he will be ok with it :)

Pretty insane result in the end! Keep up the hard work! Just a tip - some weathering effects would make this look even more realistic - check out weathering techniques used in scale modelling, for example "Panel line washes", "chipping" and general weathering.

Please let us know how long it takes to do something like this! I think people would appreciate your effort even more! I do not know how you can even feel your hand after that much intricate cutting, especially in 3mm cardboard!!!
@3dgarsdesign
@3dgarsdesign Жыл бұрын
It took me 7 month to make patterns and then tank. I think If I was doing only tank then something about 4 weeks full time I guess. Wheels was about 25 hours. tracks was most insane and hardest. I did them 7 weeks every day was cutting for an hour or bit more but then fingers start to hurt. And I came back next day. And most funny thing is that I did cut twice as much tracks as I needed. A bit miscalculation. 😀
@DonoVideoProductions
@DonoVideoProductions Жыл бұрын
@@3dgarsdesign That is even longer than I had thought. Amazing. And believe me, I took one look at those tracks, and questioned your sanity, seriously. The workmanship is outstanding, but maybe you shouldn't be so hard on yourself? Have you thought about cutting out your pieces with a laser cutter? Repetitive stress injury is a very real thing...I know from personal experience.
@nanuq83
@nanuq83 Жыл бұрын
@@3dgarsdesign Wow! 7 months; the time and effort is incredible. Donovideo is right though, you should find an alternative form of cutting because the injury is real, the damage can be permanent and costly to not only future projects but most importantly your livelihood. Plus the surgery to fix that problem, although not as invasive as lot of surgeries, doesn't always work. That's thick cardboard your cutting into while maintaining pressure and strength throughout the whole arm and hand for hours on end. That sounds very painful to me. Also, you most definitely should tell people at the beginning of the build how long it took to do the project. People like us, who are hobbyist and enjoy watching others create, know the dedication it takes and we appreciate hearing the details and thought process behind your decisions.
@3dgarsdesign
@3dgarsdesign Жыл бұрын
@@nanuq83 Thank You 🙂 And I will think about finding better way of cutting those cardboard pieces.

have you ever had any luck making something mechanically functional out of cardboard? years ago i got this mechanical pendulum clock kit from Wrebbit that was all carboard construction. it was really neat design and fun to build, but it never did work very well. i would love to see you tackle something like that.
@3dgarsdesign
@3dgarsdesign Жыл бұрын
I wanted to do here at least when you push the tank wheels spin. But I ran into some issues could not make so precise wheels and was not sure will track will not jam with the rear wheel. So decided to make it fixed. There is lot of things to think about for the next tank project. Don`t know if I will fix them all but hope there will be some improvements.
