Constructed with Exploratorium "Cardboard Automata" curriculum as a guide.
Materials include: cardboard, 6mm foam, bamboo skewers, cardstock, pony beads, paper fasteners, drinking straws, wire nails, and hot glue.

Love the automata. I am trying to make a similar one for a school project but with wood instead. Could please tell me the angle of tile of the cams to make the wave move sidewards how many cm need to go outside the box Pls reply I really need to know to make my technical drawing

I have a project for engineering class and im having trouble figuring out how to move one of my objects sideways just as you did with your wave. How exactly did you make it work?

+Olga Hernandez There is a straw attached to the back of the wave and fixed skewer that it slides on. I'll post a link to some photos shortly.

J.E johnson, I'm watching your automata. It was very good machine that i have seen. My school project is automata making. Then, my group corrected yours. Because it looks like the best viking .
