The original dream season for the Carolina Panthers Panthers/Eagles Playoff Games: • Carolina Panthers v. P...

The most surprising thing for me was my original team, the New England Patriots were who we played in the Super Bowl. It was a dream come true with no real losers for me. My bleeding heart was for the Panthers at this point in my life, but the Pats were always there. This was the game that I lived for. And the way it went down was monumental. A truly perfect season for two great teams that culminated in a almost perfect game. I hope everyone who watches gets the same joy I do when I watch it. Please share with your fellow fans. This was immediately taken over by the NFL for monetization so the only thing I get from it is sharing the memories with fellow Cardiac Cats!

This was a very interesting team. They didn't have household names that the casual fan would know, yet they really went the distance and almost beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl. That was already after two big wins in the playoffs at St. Louis and Philadelphia. I thought John Fox was a perfect fit for the Panthers, and this really felt like a team he molded into a contender.

My love for the game was cemented in this season - I even used to wear #88 so that “I could stand between Moose and Smith in the team photo when I make it to the NFL” lol Loved this team and those guys - it was such an exciting time.

Dan Morgan (MLB #55) was my favorite player on this 2003-2004 Panthers team. He led the team in total tackles & forced fumbles & led the linebacker core in almost every category. He was rightfully voted a Pro Bowler & All-Pro that season. He played his entire 7-year career in Carolina. Should have made 2 Pro Bowls but he did make 1 (his 2005 season was great as well.) concussions shortened what should have been a 10+ year career, he still had the talent later in his career but his style of play took its toll on him and as the concussions piled up he had to step away early. He was the unsung hero of the playoffs...leading the team in tackles in every playoff game, getting a crucial Int. In the Divisional round vs. Philly & setting a Super Bowl Record for Total Tackles with 22 vs. NE. He finished the SB game with 22 tackles (16 solo), 4 tackles for loss, 3 Pass Break ups & 2 QB Pressures. One of the best individual efforts in any SB.

Panthers team had alot of talent actually. very good offensive skill positions with smith, mohammed who is very underrated and prohl who was part of the greatest show on turf rams sb teams. davis was a highly touted rb at that time and foster had tons of talent out of college before injury in his first season. defense was also stacked. mlb dan morgan forgot about b/c injuries and concussions ended his nfl career but he was a stud. set the record at the time for most tackles in a super bowl. Morgan was out of the U and had the same types of talents other U LBers of that era such as Ray Lewis and Jon Vilma did. Peppers was a athletic freak who was a top 5 pick. Jenkins at DT was a monster who was one of the best in the game.

One of other my all-time favorite NFL teams outside of my Chicago Bears is the Carolina Panthers & I remember their 2003-2004 NFL season as if it was literally yesterday & it still kills me, to this day that they went into 'Super Bowl 38' & got killed against the New England Patriots... Kinda like my #5 all-time favorite NFL team, the Oakland Raiders & their 2002-2003 NFL season: They go to 'Super Bowl 37' to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers & they get completely killed.
@jka998 жыл бұрын
Got killed by the Patriots might be a little harsh. They lost by a field goal after Casey put the Pats on the 40. And they lost to arguably the greatest quarterback to play the game. It still hurts, but that second half was some of the most exciting football I think I've ever watched.
@nicholasvandal69488 жыл бұрын
Yes and no. Diehard Pats fan from Mass now living in Chicago where my wife and BEARS fan is from :). If tommy doesnt throw that boneheaded endzone INT late in 3rd quarter, pats pull away with that game. Adam Vinatieri missed 1 field goal and had another one blocked. So a lot of WHAT IF factors. Truth be told, that super bowl was probably my favorite outside of the seahawks game just because of that stupid delfategate rubbish.

Nice one hand snag Ricky Manning did against the Rams and gave us a memorable Steve Smith TD in 2OT. Saved our postseason journey. Then Ricky Manning went elite mode on the Eagles and IMO he gets a lot of credit for getting the offense opportunities to take the game away from the Eagles. I was 4 when this all happened. I remember the Super Bowl now thanks to NFL films. 12 seasons later we go to another one this time the best team in the league with MVP Cam “SuperCam” Newton and we let the game slip. That hurt the most. Now we’re rebuilding in a new era of Panthers football. I’m hoping that this new era will break out big time and win games especially against real teams and upcoming contenders. This will be either an exciting journey or a rocky sad journey. Please win a Super Bowl while I’m still growing into adulthood and on. I want to feel the moment other fans felt when their team won their first title. I wish for it to happen 🙏🏻
