Great video and reminder for all of us, especially as we get older. Lifestyle change is imperative. Glad to hear you are still competing and your health is in a better place.

Steve that was a very thought provoking video and I'm sure not easy to talk about, I'm glad that you have managed to get it under control and It's not stopping you from doing what you love.

Well done on making this video. Very useful information and in fact it’s made me reflect on some readings I’ve had in the past. My own blood pressure has often been on the high side when taken in medical environments and I’ve always put it down to “white coat syndrome” but I think I’m going to invest in a blood pressure monitor and keep a more regular check. 👍

Definitely worth keeping an eye on things Joseph. One of the things I was worried about when I went on the medication was it impacting my running performance, but I've not see any issues and tolerate the meds well.

Thank you for sharing, very insightful. Had to monitor my blood pressure after giving birth for a short while due a small risk of pre eclampsia. The docs wouldn’t let me leave the hospital until it had reduced after collecting a set of readings during the day.

Hi Steve. You are doing brilliantly considering the BP problems. I’ve been fortunate not to have had such problems but we are just dealing with my wife’s BP going through the roof. Quick question. How much help did you get from the NHS or did you have to go private to see a Cardiologist. My wife is just considering this option as the NHS are struggling to diagnose her problem and she is struggling with the meds. Cheers Steve 🙏

Hi - I was through BUPA with work and they were brilliant and quick. I then just moved over my local surgery and they again have been superb. I very much doubt the NHS down here would have done the level of tests on me that BUPA undertook, and even if they it would have taken months rather than the 2 weeks from the initial consult to get the vast majority done.

@ Steve Thanks that’s very helpful. I think we will be finding a cardiologist locally very soon. 🙏

Thanks Steve, reminds us we’re not invincible what ever we do. Hope you don’t mind me asking but what’s your diet like? I also have high blood pressure but just gone on low carb/carnivore to see if that helps🤞

@@StopGambling50-d3v Hi - I would say I have a balanced diet. We do make sure we get lots of leafy greens and beetroot in the diet, and I’m a big fan of overnight oats and am going through a boiled eggs and soldiers phase at the moment. 😀
