Cardiology fellowship after Internal Medicine residency: Tips

How tough it is going to be to get externships/observership after the advent of step1 pass and fail, especially for those students who have not had decent academic performance and have no other things to flaunt on their CV while applying for externships/observerships?

Electives will become more competitive but externships should not see much change. These are mostly in affiliated hospitals.

@@usmlesarthi2024 sir what should do from here, I am planning to take step1 in feb'22 and step2 CK in oct'22 after that what can I do to make my CV at par with other candidates? Like I have thought of doing externships, and step3 but what else can I do and how to get those opportunities?

if someone has applied in PGY2 of residency for cardiology fellowship, but couldn't make it through the interviews (failed it) then what should he/she should do ? can they reapply in the same fellowship or they have to choose something different? PLS ADVICE SIR

Also what about the VISA? Is it difficult getting a H1B visa because I have heard that you need to return to your home country for 2 years with J1 visa. Can you also please make a video on that?

You can always do a waiver job. There are options. No one typically goes back home. After fellowship or residency you should be able to get a waiver job and complete the J1 requirements
