Just some tips for anyone that is with someone during a panic attack Please don't touch them unless the want to be touched. Ask them for permission first. Touching them might make then more anxious. Try to get them out of the public eye if you can, it will help the person as they might feel embarrassed Look them in the eye, and talk with a soft voice, don't try to pressure them into talking. Let them know you are there and you will be with them for however long. If they ask to be alone, let them be, but don't be too far away. Sometimes we just need to be alone and collect our thoughts for a second.

Also something to add to the list. Don't get mad at them for having an attack in public. It makes the whole situation worse. Also try to stay as calm as possible.

All of this is true. Also: don’t push for what made the person anxious, sometimes we have no clue what caused it.

Last time I had anxiety attack my mother shouted at me and keep hitting the table (an attempt to stop me from hyperventilating and panicking) but it didn't help me at all, it scared me even more. So if you happen to meet someone having/suffering from panic or anxiety attack *please don't raise your voice at them, it will only scare and pressure them- which is not helpful. Talk with calmness and gentleness. Trust me, they want to calm down they're just having hard time* Peace out.

Today I went to the store to get some stuff for my hair. I noticed I had bit of extra money and I decided to also something to drink and a snack. When I get to the register the guy tells me some high price I didn't expect and It turns out I picked up the wrong hair product. Whoops. As he went to go check to make sure I had mistaken it, the line was starting to pile up and people were looking at me like "will this girl hurry the fuck up already?" well, maybe they weren't but my social anxiety made it feel that way. I swear I wanted to run out of the store. Everyone was staring and I could feel my face burning and my beating like hell. So I tell the guy just forget it, I'll pick something else and leave the line and go back to the hair aisle. I tell myself to calm down, it's no big deal, no one's staring, breath Hannah. Just breath. So I do some deep breathing while I grab another hair product and think to myself "there. Now let's get the hell out of here." when I get to the register the guy tells me another rediculous price and explains that it's the cost plus a tax of 1.05 but of course I don't have an extra dollar and this point I'm already starting to freeze up. I start stuttering, shaking, suffocating, and Its like I wanna leave but I'm stuck. I mean, why would the tax be a whole dollar? That's just dumb. Why not just include it in the cost? So I tell the guy forget it because I don't have an extra dollar and try best not to run as I leave. But then he calls me back saying I forgot my money. I swear, for minute I thought about just leaving it and running the hell away. But that's all the money I have. So I went back, grabbed it, and felt like I was going to explode. Finally I'm out annnnnnnd he calls me back again. I forgot my change this time. When I go to grab it from him, I'm shaking so hard that I drop it all. I quickly pick it up and run for it. By the time I leave the store I'm shaking, struggling to breathe, and crying. Fuck, it was terrible and I felt humiliated. Listening to this definitely helped calm me.

oh god, *i get this.* i’m 16 and don’t really have a social life due to,, you guessed it: social anxiety, everyone’s favourite friend. i think i’m slightly improving but i can never get rid of the overthinking - and god, do i absolutely despise being cursed with it. i have the type of family that doesn’t really understand that social anxiety is a thing (i’m undiagnosed and i wish they would just label me as an anxious mess already so i could prove how shit i am at life), so they would constantly force me to order a glass of water myself if i didn’t want tea, ask a store worker for help, etc. it always took me so long to gain the courage to do it and sometimes i would just drop it and not do something so i wouldn’t feel anxious, which doesn’t always end up well (my parents would most likely get mad or yell at me because it’s such an easy thing to do for them and they think it’s annoying that i can’t do it). one time i broke down on the bus home from school so bad that i was struggling to breathe and couldn’t control my crying, and me knowing that somebody would hear or see me was making it worse, yet my family would never care about that. it absolutely fucking sucks and it gets even more terrifying when you realize that communication is a life skill.

I was beginning to have a panic attack and remembered seeing this in my recommended videos awhile back. It calmed me down quickly, and it actually made me cry. I’ve always had to deal with my panic attacks alone as my family is very unsympathetic. Basically.. they don’t understand why I can’t just ‘get over it’ or ‘deal with it’ so when I have a panic attack they become frustrated with me. I’ve found it’s just easier to keep it to myself and stay alone until I feel better. This video pretty much encompasses the kind of person I wish I had to help me through it.

It’s been really hard to sleep or calm down lately. I live in St. Paul MN, and with all the riots lately, I’ve just been on edge. Your audios help me feel what I’ve been boxing in everyday for the past week. I keep on telling myself not to cry, to be strong, to be there for those who depend on me, but I can’t help but feel more and more unstable as time passes. So thank you. Even if I’m still unable to sleep, at least your audios give me some sense of security.

have you thought about maybe doing an audio where the listener suffers from narcolepsy and has an attack, or maybe the listener just passes out? just an idea :)

As a person who has had panic attacks this is truly amazing! when you go through a panic attack and I'm not starting this follows with what everyone with anxiety has your body and your mind are at war and having someone there that understands like this is extremely helpful. Thank you so much for making this!

Bless you're videos on these topics. You've helped so many individuals with this comforting. I'm going to share this with a friend who I know has trouble with things like this, and I hope it helps her. I haven't had a severe attack, but my mom has panic attacks sometimes. Every time it scares the living crap out of me because I don't want anything bad to happen. I'm always worrying that I might lose her. The closest I've had to this was minor to medium shaking and on the verge of crying.
