Thank you for this video it was a big help. It is absolutely ridiculous that I have to go googling every time I try to do anything with my cardo. (This time the frustration was not knowing i had to hit the intercom button again to talk in BT intercom mode, it was driving me insane. I was trying to add a 3rd device that is BT only.)

Great video!!! My friend went with a Lexin B4 and I have a Cardo Packtalk Bold. Stupid question but can they connect to each other? And if so how? Any advice is welcome.

Love your vids! Would you still recommend the cardo packtalk? If you pair with "other" brands can you bring that one into the mesh with the cardo group?

Thanks! 1. Absolutely no-doubt would still recommend. 2. Yes, you can do so by using the "DMC-Bridge" feature. Basically, you pair-up with the other brand in Bluetooth Intercom Mode, then switch back to DMC Intercom Mode, then tap the Intercom button to bridge that person into the group. Once you bridge them in, everyone can hear that person and that person can hear everyone in the group. Checkout the DMC Bridge video I did for more info, and good luck!!

Hello, thanks for the video, I have a question, my intercom is a packtalk black, I think it works the same as the bold, when we talk about intercom mode, we have a DMC mode and a Bluetooth mode, in Bluetooth mode we have two channels, do these channels are separate from the ones I can use to connect my phone and GPS? Or I have two channels in total so if I connect two intercoms, I can no longer connect mobile and GPS. Greetings and thanks

Hello! You are correct it operates the same as Bold, and your first description is the correct one - the Bluetooth Intercom channels are separate from the ones used for phone and GPS. BUT, keep one thing in mind: if you are actively talking to the two riders you are paired with in Bluetooth Intercom, the Cardo will suspend the connection to your phone/GPS until you drop the intercom with either of those two riders. It will automatically reconnect once you do. To confirm further though, yes, you can have a Bluetooth pairing to Rider A, and Bluetooth pairing to Rider B, a phone paired to Mobile Phone Pairing, and a GPS paired to GPS Pairing. Of course, when possible, use DMC Intercom Mode as it can handle this best. Hope that helps!

Will this work if both the other bluetooth devices are not cardo units? Will I still be able to have a 3 way bluetooth conversation if the other two devices are not cardo units?

Hanif Ganteng Coeg A good way to think of it is this: No one headset on the market can pair with two “non-family” headsets, I.e headsets of a different brand; only 1. BUT, to your question, if the other 2 headsets you would be pairing with are of the same brand, then you could have them pair together like normal, and have 1 of them use Universal Pairing to pair with your Cardo and bring YOU into THEIR group, and, depending on what those other headset are, have a 3-way conversation. Checkout the video I did on the "DMC Bridge" feature - this is exactly how you'd want to do this. Basically, the 2 Packtalk Bolds will be connected in DMC Mode, but when they activate DMC Bridge, each Packtalk will bring one of the Freecom 4+ units into the conversation. That would be the best way to set those up. Hope that helps!

1. First - you did amazing job! Cardo should pay you for the movies you made. 2. Based on your movies I managed to pair all 4 cardo devices and cardo with my phone (thank you). Do you know if it's possible to play music on one phone (paired with cardo) and share the stream with other cardo users? In other words: all users would hear eachother and could hear music streamed from single mobile phone?

What if you're riding a group with some riders on DMC and some on Bluetooth? I.e. Can all be connected at the same time without having to toggle between DMC and Bluetooth mode once everyone is paired?

I read in the app store that this app you are recommending is garbage. It says once you connect to app to your headsets everything stops working. So my question is which is better, to use without the app or with the app?

Yikes I don’t know I think it’s pretty awesome myself. It definitely can’t do any harm to the headset...if for some reason things got jammed-up just power-cycle the headset and it’s all good. Perhaps they were trying to use this app with older (non-compatible) Cardo/Scala rider models??? That would be my only guess. Make sure your headset is listed as compatible in the App Store description, make sure your headset has the latest firmware, and make sure to download the Cardo Connect app (NOT Cardo SmartSet), and you should be in great shape👍. Hope that helps!

Hey @Ken Hanson if you're in DMC Intercom Mode (the preferred mode) and using the actual "Private Chat" feature, it works really great for just that...a private conversation that nobody else in your group will hear. As far as I know though, there isn't a way for others to reach you while your privately chatting. Hopefully that changes...I could see that being useful for sure. If you're using it in Bluetooth Intercom Mode though and simply having a one-on-one conversation with her, then yes somebody else that is paired to you could punch-in whenever by activating the intercom from their side. Hope that makes sense!

No the A and B pairings are referring to intercom connections to other Bluetooth headset. You have 2 other Pairing slots/positions for stuff like your phone, gps, etc. Basically, when the Packtalk says “Bluetooth Intercom Mode” that’s just referring to how it’s operating as an Intercom. You can have your phone paired all the time, no matter what Intercom mode you’re in. Hope that helps👍

MotoGeek Freak Does this mean you actually have 5 bluetooth slots? 2 for devices (phone, gps), 2 for intercom to other Cardo units, and one bridge slot for a nonCardo unit? Can you use these two Cardo intercom slots and the bridge slot at the same time?

My bridge connection stops just after say 10 to 15 secs. And I have to keep reconnecting very thing it drops

Are you bridging-in a Cardo headset, or is it a different brand? Definitely shouldn't be happening if the headset you're bridging-in is a Cardo, but I've been hearing more about this happening when it's a different brand (trying to play around with mine to see if I can figure out what's going on)

@@MotoGeekFreak I was bridging in a non cardo unit (sena 50s). Anyway @thelikeablerider found a solution which is to make the bluetooth call from Sena unit instead of Cardo and now it works. In fact I realise just Bluetooth alone with a non cardo unit connection wouldn’t last for more than 10s. Until I make the call from sena to cardo. And yes both unit updated to the latest firmware.

Bold. Because it fits on any helmet and is easily transferable between helmets. The Slim has the exact same features as Bold but just not guaranteed to fit a different helmet down the line...

I shared your frustration until today! I just learned of new firmware v5.6 for Packtalk that allows music sharing while in DMC Mode! Here's how: -Update to the latest firmware -Go over to "Bluetooth Intercom Mode" on both headsets -Pair the two headsets together while in "Bluetooth Intercom Mode". I paired mine together on "Channel A" -Go BACK to "DMC Intercom Mode" -Play some music on your Packtalk, and use either the Cardo Connect app to share that music with your passenger, OR, while the music is playing, hold the "Intercom" button for 2 seconds then let go.... you'll hear "music share activated" and should be good to go.
