12:32 the level of the music drop off is adjustable in the app, so you are correct that it would have dropped the volume of the music when intercom comes in, check the app settings 😊

I thought you could record dialogue from the Edge direct to your phone using the Record button on the Cardo app when connected to the Edge. I’m sure I’ve seen a video on KZbin 🤔 Maybe another video for you😁👍 See video at 15:11 ‘Voice Recording’👍

You can now but that was released after we shot the video

13:29 on the battery life you were only connecting to each other, but in full group mesh the battery life is heavily affected giving maybe 7-8 hours

Hi Guys, surely you have played 'Which device to connect to my BMW?' The frustrating game where you try to get your headset, phone, bike and sat nav all to work? Does the Edge allow you to connect to your bike and to your Zumo XT so you can hear directions or is it like my Freecom and I can only connect it to my bike and my phone connects to my bike else it keeps losing connection if I introduce the Zumo?

Yep sure have. It’s frustrating with any Comms so we just have our phones connected to the cardo. Never used sat nav voice prompts as they are annoying. :)

@@RiderCamTV ☹️I was hoping you were going to say the Edge is different and it connects seamlessly.

With any intercom from a name brand, the basic BT chip for connecting to phone and GPS is almost always going to be the same. When talking to people about comms and connecting to sat nav, I always recommend doing it in series instead of parallel - IE, phone to sat nav/TFT then to comm. Unfortunately, what you're wanting is going to be way too difficult for any unit to do, as it will only realistically connect to one GPS-type connection at a time. I'd personally just connect your phone to the Zumo or bike then connect Zumo/bike to the comm, depending on what you want to do that day/ride. Just a limitation of the technology

@@ItsBeenDanBefore From a little more research it seems the comms unit has 2 Bluetooth channels so if the phone is connected to the bike, the bike is also connected to the headset it should leave one channel for the sat nav. It works for a short while but then throws a wobbly. The bike is happy to connect to the phone and the headset both using Bluetooth but the headset is only happy with one connection. I've just bought the Edge and the Carpe Iter system so when I get a chance to go for a ride I'll see if the integration is any smoother as the Carpe Iter utilizes the BMW controls and is hard-wired through the TFT so it may not require a separate Bluetooth channel.

Bottom line here is that if you go around a bend or over a hill with obstruction cardo is no better than a Chinese intercom, it only excels in mesh mode, but one to one there is nothing special, that's not to say that they haven't got great features like the speaker, mag mount, app, over the air update ect 😊 oh yeah and the noise cancelling is next level for sure 👍🏻

Ie used walkie-talkies with ear piece and work very long distance but voice activated mike is bit sketchy shame because they are cheap!

15:47 you just say "answer" no need to say "hey cardo"

I’ve had mine ( Cardo Edge) 14 months and have got it to work perhaps 6 times, it’s total rubbish. Good for listening to the phone or satnav, but listening to your mates from 400 yds away!? TOTAL TOSH! When I go on a ride with my mates, I give it about 10 mins to get it going, or I go without it, which I’d 90% of the time, I hardly bother with it anymore. This video is sponsored by Cardo, and doesn’t match my experience at all. I expect they’ll take it down pretty quickly, we’ll see… ( My name is Owen, and I live and ride around Andover, Uk, happy to supply all my details if you’re interested)

Shame you had that experience. We have found cardo to be awesome and use them daily in groups and in dmc mode and have had completely different experiences to you.
