The cages are too small and have the wrong flooring. Wire flooring will start to hurt the bunnies. You need to give them more space and put stuff on the bottom of the cage to help keep them healthy Edit: It’s been 3 years... y’all are still replying to this comment?

Yeah, you are right but unfortunately, they are breeders whose main goal is selling rabbits. So, in this case normal bedding would be actually more dangerous to the rabbits. In the breeding facilities, they hold a shit load of animals and little staff. Wood shaving bedding requires frequent cleaning routines, especially when there are multiple animals in a cage, and by that, I mean like daily cleaning. Otherwise, amonia from waste will build up starting to evaporate and it can cause very, very serious health issues for rabbits (there are other issues too such as bacteria, fly larva and molt). In large breeding facilities frequent cleaning is near impossible, so cages with metal floors that don't collect waste are preferred. This cage type is actually used out of concern for rabbits health and well-being.

Some rabbits need to be on wire because some are impossible to litter train. Not all rabbits can use a litter box and the ones who can't need to on wire, otherwise they would be sitting in their own waste. If you are "so" concerned then give them a mat to sit on. Sheesh

Even if you have a pet rabbit and they trust you, you should never touch the baby’s with your bare hands and that goes towards almost every animal. Once that baby doesn’t smell like it’s mom anymore she will either eat it or not feed it literally she will escort it out of the nest. This doesn’t go for every animal because they are all different but if the baby has a different smell the mom will no.

This is correct, but it's more humane to have a less stressed rabbit with a better immune response. Additionally, if you have more space with the stock, you reduce the chances of cross-infection from pathogens. Fortunately, there is far less possibility of a zoonosis arising in rabbits than you might get with, say, poultry. You may not get the same feed to weight ratio on grow-out, but you have less stock loss if they are not stressed. Cage culture simply does not work as well as a good colony setup. But again, that depends on how much space you have to work with. What breeds are we seeing here?

Concentrated food is like cattle feed. Combination differ a bit. There could be problems of worm or any other health issue to the kittens. Better consult a veterinary doctor
