This was a really interesting insight into the role of a race engineer and I found this very helpful, thank you

im really looking forward to growing up man mabye someday i could get the chance to build engines in f1 that would be an absolute dream...

Do you need to have a masters degree for becoming a race engineer or is a bachelor's degree also sufficient?
@Eduardo_Espinoza Жыл бұрын
It is awesome to know that I've basically been doing such things once for no good reason now makes perfect sense, i still want to create a new engine I've been thinking about since, I've always wanted to do something different from what is seen, i want to make something you wouldn't think possible, possible :).

In short, Get a degree in Mechanical Engineering and go street racing on weekends with your modded car. Ofcourse modded by yourself.

Probably track racing not street racing

wow what an amazing job! Shame im a computer scientist now. This looks a dream
@atripsix84694 жыл бұрын
Surely being a computer scientist could get you somewhere in the Motorsport industry with maybe data analysis, CAD or something along those lines?

Hi, could you suggest a mechanic who I can ask some questions about their job as mechanic? It is for my son’s school project

I was really thinking about joining the motorsports career, but this "engineering background" threw me up, i just love building and doing mechanic things!

Really good. Thank you.

Why, often non engineering qualified people will wipe the floor with "engineers", people can pick up the maths fairly quickly if they have the background. Jack Brabham for example built fast cars and would use his engineers to do what he wanted,Would Jack survive today my answer is yes, I recognise 1 of the older guys as being Jim Clarke's mechanic.A background in engineering would be a help but in the end all it did for me was to teach how to learn and how to problem solve.I have seen known computer people without finishing high school without completing in charge of a few hundred programmers & engineers. I knew a Polish engineer with 1 diploma after his name who was a simply a genius, photographic memory, outwardly very cool, and totally brilliant as an engineer. Also he was always updating his knowledge and that is the key is a person always learning.

Yeah, but they might not be interested. Give it a chance anyway though, the worst case is a no, so give it a go!

+Alex Dalton - No it isn't a sport, there aren't actually an people directly competing against each other with any physical exertion. Kind of like saying "E-Sports" are sports, when clearly they aren't, but only a competition at best.
