It really helps to start in lower categories where you have to do everything alone. Be race engineer and data engineer yourself. There you gain a lot of experience.

It's not as fun. You won't be able to do anything you want, information is highly restricted. You only do what you are asked to do without asking "why". Why gets you fired from F1.

One thing you didn't hit was how you actually engineer or talk about what the other teams are doing to the drivers, which is pretty interesting l think, telling Vallteri or Lewis that Max is on mediums or he's on three stops or that he has car trouble and so on..... it's definitely valuable to have someone that can see everything that's going on at one time, relay vital information to the driver and strategize all in a flick of a moment.... good job to all you guys playing a game of chess with cars and drivers, other engineers and mechanics is a bit of fun I'd imagine.... and actually winning, Checkmate Mercedes !! 21dec2020.dellthecomputer
