Hi, i enjoyed the video. I am currently in my 4th year of medical school. I wanted to know if it's possible to take a break for a year after medical school before starting the house job. Thanks
@GloriaQuansah
@GloriaQuansah Жыл бұрын
Hi thanks for watching💕. So I’m not very sure on the break as it isn’t the conventional thing to do, you’ll most likely need to speak to MDC( Medical and Dental Council) about the plan to take a break and hopefully something may be arranged for you; MDC will be your best bet at a final answer

So while being a Medical Officer, what will you be doing? More rotations? Or you can practice in a particular field during the 1 to 3 years?
@GloriaQuansah
@GloriaQuansah 2 жыл бұрын
It depends on you. If you’re posted by the government you’ll most likely be assigned a specific department and would work there for your period there. But if you choose to go private, it’ll be entirely up to you the jobs you take on

So if you're to successfully complete this 2years rotation choosing surgery Does it mean u become an official surgeon after that
@GloriaQuansah
@GloriaQuansah 2 жыл бұрын
No please. To become a surgeon you need to do residency/specialization in surgery which can take up to 5years/more.

Hi there glad to have you here. In Ghana, it would be difficult as to enter into medical School you should have done some required electives: biology, chemistry etc., however the requirements in other countries differ
