Chris Lennertz recalls his high school guidance counselor laughing at him when he said he wanted to be a film composer. He then explains how there are thousands of jobs in film composition, or in support of film music, such as editors, supervisors, copyists, sample developers, and more. He says there are ways to pay the bills while reaching new stepping stones in your career, it just may take a little time and require taking on multiple roles in the industry before film composing is your full-time career.

Thank you.. Thank you so much actually. I’m 35 and haven’t given up on my goals yet but, with that said, it is getting harder to continue with the same faith and it is harder to keep myself encouraged... so I needed to hear you say everything you said. I would love to go to school but I am a single dad and cannot afford it so I’m kind of on my own and it can be discouraging but, I don’t stop because I AM a dad and I can’t let my kids see that giving up is even an option. So just one more time. Thank you

Good news! I made it into school. Last time I commented I didn't think I was going to be able to get help paying for school... NOW, I am a full time student at Full Sail University and the future looks just a little less far away. Just thought I would update everyone. :)
