To keep it simple ... Be technical , shift after every 3 yrs so you will also have to stay keen tobe relevant ask for role upgrade after every 3 yrs . Most importantly never join a company with 3 months notice . Else plan b is tobe patient , content with less than 5 percent hike and be ready to have a junior boss

Can IT employees work for more than 25years in the industry
@manojexuberant3 жыл бұрын
@@vishk9765 if yo build a technical offering i thinnk it should not be an issue. staying relevant is important. moving to product company could be a better bet. service companies dont need lots of technical exp holder guys.

Leave this f**ng rat race and do the business.. More you work more you earn... Here how much more you work you earn the same.. Why to take so much stress and effort to get just 5% hike... Within that 5 % 50% of the hike is variable pay which you dont get.. So all these effort is for 2.5 % hike in 5 years😀😀

Always promote your skills, improve it, find the opportunity, either within, or outside company. No one can stop that person to grow. And some luck will always help. No point in losing time with company who don't care.

thanks for such informative videos. Could relate to now how I got promoted recently. Can you make a video on what to do, how to handle situations when your mentor leaves the organization? For me, I have been constantly guided for my career by my mentor and now when that my mentor left, I have lost a kind of interest in work and feeling helpless on how to proceed further in my career.
@CareerTalk3 жыл бұрын
Hello Nilutpal, I can relate to what you are saying. At times we may feel alone if our mentor leaves. But I am sure you have learned enough to get over this temporary phase. You must make your mentor proud by holding your ground.

How to know what kra or roles and responsibilities are been handled by 1-2 level above us. Even after asking our seniors if they don't answer clearly or transparently.
@CareerTalk3 жыл бұрын
Hello Anuj, Welcome to my channel and thanks for connecting on LinkedIn. To answer your question... 1. KRAs should be transparent. Not sure why they are not being shared. 2. Generally KRAs/ goals are tied with company targets. 3. And KRAs/ goals flow down in the hierarchy. 4. So your KRAs will have some portion of your boss's KRA. For example, A senior manager with $5 million revenue goal may have 4 deputy managers reporting into him, with each manager having a certain revenue goal (total of all 4 folks will be equal to $5 million)

Now a days , managers promote who so ever dependency is more in the team.
@CareerTalk Жыл бұрын
Hi Raj, Another way to look at it is....Why is dependency more on few people? Is it because of their knowledge and expertise? If yes, then we need to ask ourselves how do we gain the same knowledge and expertise. Does that make sense to you?

Hello Sir, Thank you for the insightful videos. Im working as analyst & Recently my manager announced my promotion (to senior analyst) in team meeting & he asked me to share my thoughts. I wasn't prepared. I just said "Thank you team for supporting & helping me to learn the process". There are many others looking for same promotion but they didnt get it. Im the only one who got promoted. Next day my manager gives me feedback that there is no need to give credit to team mates , i earned it bcoz of my hardwork. Did I do wrong by thanking my peers for their help & support? Could you please enlighten me sir

Absolutely bullshit. I managed something very critical for my organisation, to the extent that our license could get cancelled. Prior to me my superboss was managing that with the help of a third party consultant. Org was struggling to manage that important task and then my boss engaged with top 4 consultancy firms…. Even they could not get through that… I interjected and with my past experience started liaison with regulatory and got the organisation through…. Was I promoted? Naa… my boss did… he hired another dud for his position and never considered me..the new dud who could not draft a covering letter to liase with regulatory started pointing fingers at my work knowing well that I was wholly solely responsible for this license my superboss never intervened resulting me to handover this task to my new boss, who was reluctant to do the same and wanted to be spoon fed, I actually got demoted after this
