Southgate's loyalties ment lack of opportunities for seeing other player's who could bring new capabilities to squad. This Spain performance should demonstrate to ALL how important Fundamentals are to football. Coordinated Movement off the ball in possession is key to a great offense. One of the reasons WHY I knew very early that Poch was a poor coach. Run you into the ground and teach you nothing type of Manager.

I always preferred Chilwell, but he was better as a Wing Back, and his injuries have just killed him. I am never a "get rid of this guy", even for managers, because I think people deserve time to grow into a system. I think Cucurella has proved this point. Gary Neville is an idiot, but Cucurella's weaknesses are still apparent. He is quite poor in possession and is way too rash in defending. He got that brilliant assist in the end, but I'd wager he'd fluff it if he was made to do it again. He got caught out of position many times in this tournament. Fortunately, they weren't punished. He has a lot to work on. I'm glad for the guy, but let's not pretend that he is this perfect LB.
