The newer PA-44s have prop accumulators, you do not need to use the starter to unfeather those newer models. All of my time in the real plane is in the older 1979 model where the starter is required, always a little nerve wracking restarting them lol, would be a bad time if the starter failed. Anyone else get a crash to desktop when trying to tune the DME?

That is very good to know about the accumulator. I did see other versions of games where Carenado has a glass cockpit and a steam gauge panel but I have only seen steam gauges for the FS2020 aircraft. Maybe they modeled it after the new PA44. I was tuning the DME a while ago and had no crashes from it. I actually tried it again just now and no crashes. Thanks for the info!

@busterscruggs_sc3 жыл бұрын
@@thecorporatepilotdad The 1979 model seminoles, or the ones produced in that time frame, did not. However they are distinct in that they have the old style piper yoke, like the old Cherokees, and the engine instruments are below the yoke in a really terrible position. Also, most of the rocker switches are on the left wall. What we called the "2000 seminoles" the ones produced from the late 90's and on, have the unfeathering accumulators. The "2000 seminole" (nickname) is what you are flying in this video. Sure there are the newer G1000 seminoles, but those are more similar to the 2000 models than the 79's. Yeah, I got a chuckle when you said (paraphrasing here) full fidelity airliner at 30 bucks.lol. You need to check out the X-Plane.org store and see the cost on "study level airliners". Personally for me the most expensive aircraft I bought was the FJSim 737-200 for $69.00 USD, then I did a review on it (back in the day) a long with a follow up video. At first, I thought I wasted my money, and my first video reflected on that. But over time it grew on me, and ended up be in my favorite airliner. But I don't typically fly airliners (just not my thing, "boring"), I spend most of my flight simulation time in GA, but to each their own I guess. Thanks for the review, looks like the aircraft is typical Carenado at that price point. If they would have had a GTN 750 installed maybe I would have picked it up. Once you go GTN 750, it's hard to go back, but that's just me. Cheers Dion YT: #dionm01

I have found out in the last 24 hours from you and a few others that 30 dollars isn't reasonable for very detailed for large airliners. I have been playing Flight Sim since FS98 but never bought any payware except a C421 years ago on FSX and the Seminole. As far as the your question on the VMC demo, I used full power on the operating engine and decreased the airspeed slowly. It was exactly that, a demonstration and it is a flight sim. I need something with fully functionally GPS database so you can program a SID, RNAV approaches etc, is that possible with this version?
@thecorporatepilotdad3 жыл бұрын
Yes but always remember, it is a sim/game. It is close to real life in many ways, but not quite. You can do almost all instrument procedures (no missed approach procedures in the GPS on an RNAV approach and everything else has to be done manually) and practice many approaches. For a procedures trainer and practicing approaches, holds, etc, then yes, it is fine. It is not good for landings or anything that requires tactile feel or muscle memory. As a matter of fact, I have my throttle on the left and joystick on the right even though when I fly in real life I hold the yoke with my left hand and the throttle with my right. I do not want to develop any bad muscle memory from FS2020 to the real airplanes. You can program SIDS and STARs and RNAV approaches but the missed approach procedures are not in the GPS or FMS on any approach type, yet.

@@thecorporatepilotdad thats great, thanks. It's 100 bucks an hour for the rated sim (not landing approved) and 700 for the Seminole where I live so anything that takes the edge off the amount of real cockpit time required for renewals would be great! Is study level cuz I’m doing me MEI? Thanks :)

It is not study level. It may help for reviewing multi-engine procedures and running real checklists with it to increase familiarization of the checklist procedures.

In many Carenado aircraft in fsx when you open the little window in-flight you hear rushing wind. Not in this baby. Crashed.
@thecorporatepilotdad3 жыл бұрын
I get that too. I used to open windows in Pipers in real life all the time while flying. I may have stuck my hand out a time or two or three. It never crashed doing that. Sure made it windy inside the airplane though. About two updates ago you could open the window at speeds below 100 or so knots and it would make more wind noise.

What about the fps with this aircraft? Do u notice any drop or worse performance, comparing to the default airplanes?

@@otacianonoronha I really enjoy it. I thought the price was steep at first but I have played FS2020 with it 95% of the time since I bought it a month ago. If you like steam gauge cockpits and twin engine airplanes, it is something you will probably enjoy.

@thecorporatepilotdad3 жыл бұрын
It feels a little light but the closest thing to the Seminole I have flown in real life is the Piper Apache. It seemed very pitchy at first but I've gotten used to it. I don't manhandle the airplane so it's not a big deal. I fly it like I'd fly in real life except when I get the urge to do an aileron roll or something.

My egt gauge doesn't work.

Mine takes a lot of movement on the mixture to get the EGT to come up. I'd say at least halfway or greater on the mixture before the EGT moves.

@@thecorporatepilotdad oh yeah tried that. I know that in msfs2020 50% is always peak no matter the aircraft, altitude or conditions. I tried it on the ground don't know if that was the issue.

@@mizzyroro I wish they would fix that but it keeps going update after update without being fixed. The amount the mixture has to be leaned is not realistic at all.

For the alternator and out of feather accuracy, I'm sure Carenado will update the aircraft and fix. For $30, they have to..

Me too. I want a study level airplane with real emergencies and being able to deal with them by pulling CBs, securing an engine, and following emergency checklists. I also want a fully functional FMC/FMS. The Working Title CJ4 mod is the closest thing so far. I know I am expecting a lot but we should except that someday we will get the same level of aircraft systems as we get in graphics in FS2020.
