This was a great interview. You can tell he has passion for the work and love for this herd of elephants and probably elephants in general. I think he was spot on when asked about Khanysia. She has brought a lot of joy to a lot of people and she has no idea. I look at the videos and think how much I love her but she will never know. She is a character and always makes me smile. Tigere first seeing Limpopo's stick usage and having a "wow, another level" -experience. I think a few of us got the same watching Khanyisa becoming an elephant gate master. (If her trunk was stronger, she would have opened them gate locks sooner than she did.) Yep, elephants are tool users, they have language, complex societies: among the most amazing beings on the planet. I have trained with our family's dogs, followed Koko the gorilla, watched dolphins, numerous animal intelligence videos: elephant intelligence isn't a surprise to me any more. But their abilities and solutions do.

He has a big heart that he tries not to reveal. He also has articulated much more than anyone else the impact the Herd has had on him, and his respect and love for them. He seems to love and respect Adine but wouldn't say it in this interview. When he spoke of the elephants intelligence and how they protect and support each other and then explained how they have protected him out in the bush I knew then how much he admires and loves them. It is hard to talk of one's self, so thank you for doing just that in this interview. I am so happy you are a leader amount your brothers at Jabulani.
