I bought this for my 74 year old mum. We went with the luxury trim so that adds the HUD, upgraded seats, upgraded sound system, upgraded safety package and a few more bells and whistles. Was able to get the dealership throwing in lexus 4k front and rear dash cam added. She was driving the Toyota Corolla hybrid... reason for buying as mum always wanted a premium branded vehicle but never can justify one for herself. And since i purchased my tesla last year she always commented on she wanted to buy a nicer car. Cars i was considering was BYD dolphin, Mercedes A Class... BYD dolphin was nice but mum felt it was going to be hard to get used to and she wasn'ta big fan of the looks... A class was nice but mum worried it was European and worried about maintenance repair cost. Went with LBX because she it was small and she really liked the looks and liked it as it rides slightly higher than her Corolla. she said it felt the similar in terms operating the vehicle as her Corolla. However still have a few extra features and materials looks a lot nicer compared to her Corolla. So for mum's use case it was perfect as she don't drive with any passenger 90% of the time. Her car is used for grocery runs and social outings with her friends who all drives mercedes, bmw audi or volvo etc...

Paul regarding B mode -it is for engine braking - like going down a steep hill - nothing else. Toyota/Lexus don't recommend you drive in "B" mode on normal roads. It's purely to save your brakes down a steep hill.
@sammhine5 ай бұрын
Actually on "B" mode, if it's like other Toyota hybrids, it's more specialised use case. It's suggested use is as engine braking on steep descents - it's how it's listed in the instruction manual. The charge that goes back into the battery is comparable to the charge that you'd collect in normal "D" mode.

We test drove an LBX and really liked it. It was so beautiful inside and out. However we ended up buying a Toyota RAV4. A similar price but the RAV can tow and has a spare tyre. Mazdas engines are reliable, but dated and performance is rather poor. This will give you way better city dynamics than 180hp in Mazda. This almost 100hp electric engine does great job. Also E-CVT makes is crazy smooth with feel of an electric car, not petrol with gearbox. It's a joy to drive in city (also suspension is rather hard than smooth, but this is intentional so car drives so great in corners). It's bit "different/new" Lexus which ones done under eyes of Akio Toyoda (hence sporty feeling). It's also better quality and finish and has more features. Some of them are gimmicks, some are really useful. Expensive and small- yes, but it basically has on direct competition. It's packed with about everything you can find in RX (at least top trims in Europe).
