I have seen many old cars with over 1000HP race on a non prepped surface and they have all eaten sh!t. It is way too much HP to be racing on a non prepped surface with not that wide semi slicks on the rear. Newer cars with less HP will beat them as they have all sorts of tech to make them stick to the road and not break traction for the whole race unlike the old cars. In saying that, i find this video to be nothing but advertising for the Hyundai as i am sure the channel is getting sponsorship from them.

Why is a 7 second quarter mile car taking 5 seconds to 100? My cayenne does that……
@jamesreichmann21292 ай бұрын
low grip -> u need a treated surface for maximum grip so that the car "hooks up" faster. You lose a lot of performance to lost grip, just look at the tire marks at the start from the Holden. Electric cars can pulse their wheels 1000's of times a second which is why they are consistently fast.

Electric cars have a huge advantage in traction control as response and torque is just instant the system can put power down to the very limit the tires and surface will allow.

I've owned a lot of cars, from an XY Falcon, R34 Skyline, RX4 Mazda, Ford Escorts, and others. Now I own a Ford Ranger, and that thing, even with the lift, will still handle better than a lot of older cars I've owned, and spent good money on, and will do better off the line than most of them too. Modern vehicle have come a long way, in every aspect.

When you engage NGB doesn't it just override all other settings and give you maximum power? (meaning, it will go from RWD to AWD)

I'd like to see how the EV stacks up against modern ICE with traction control. That HQ put most of its torque into melting the tires, even with the rolling start.

The blown V8 had no traction whatsoever, that was the difference, otherwise it would have taken the Hyundai easy. And I don't know why some are surprised by the Hyundai's speed, it's electric with instant power and traction.
