One of the best conversions I've seen. At last a builder who doesn't make excuses for the TV, Microwave, A/C or oven. It grinds my gears when someone shows their 55" TV and says "oh, we never watch it", or a beautiful oven and says "oh we never use it". Or a nice microwave, "oh, we use it for storage". People worried too much about what others think like they are a bad human if they choose to watch a little TV. This build is by an honest man who did a great job!

This is from a Mechanical Engineer (not me) that used to be an Engineer in a class A motor home factory. "CO is a HEAVIER-THAN-AIR gas. It is a product of 'incomplete combustion', not normal combustion. Your CO detector needs to be mounted below the level of your bed. When CO begins to collect, it will collect on the floor in a layer, displacing the oxygen. The layer will continue to rise as more is generated. If your CO detector is incorporated in a smoke detector that is mounted high up on the wall (as is proper for a smoke detector because smoke rises), it will never go off. For this reason, make sure your smoke alarm is not in the same module as your CO alarm and position each so that they alarm will go off appropriately meaning before the harmful gas you are trying to detect reaches you. Combination CO, propane and smoke detectors are legal but inadvisable. Smoke is light, CO and propane heavy." EVERYONE SHOULD BE AWARE OF THIS!
@bigdog77294 жыл бұрын
Actually carbon monoxides specific gravity is around.5 depending on the number of molecules in the incomplete combustion. It hovers ever so slightly, which makes it dangerous because it sticks around until air current dilutes it.
@bigdog77294 жыл бұрын
After going back and listening again, its a propane leak detector down low. Specific gravity is 1.5 which will seek it's lowest point and wait for a spark. And co detector is correctly installed high.
@bigdog77294 жыл бұрын
You really need to check your information. I retired from the gas company where I live and worked as a service technician. Your engineer friend is misinformed. The specific gravity of CO (carbon monoxide) is .9667 which is ever so slightly lighter than air. Air has a specific gravity of 0.0 which is what all gases are measured by. I think you are confusing propane for CO. Propane is heavier than air. That what makes it so dangerous! It seeks the lowest point and waits for a spark if if doesn't have enough square footage to dilute with air. Ask Google or anything that you trust. These words are true my friend.
@bigdog77294 жыл бұрын
Do me a favor, Ask Google " what's the specific gravity of carbon monoxide". Just saying
@bigdog77294 жыл бұрын
Again, your engineer is mistaken. Specific gravity of CO is .9667 which is slightly lighter than air. Most CO detectors are plug, in at least the better ones. Ask Google and you will see I'm right.

I did a little bit of what you did with my 6 by 12 2005 extra height cargo trailer. It's got Shore power like you have and 12 electrical outlets and I had a queen size bed in it, Chester drawers TV refrigerator microwave toaster oven. Didn't have a water hookup but had a porta potty that's lit up underneath the bed that I built up high enough for storage under there. I just used it to pull back and forth to archery tournaments and to hunting camp. Like you said I just remove the plywood insulated the walls and ceiling put plywood back in and then I put real wood paneling on the walls with real wood trim and I tiled the floor

@@WhiteOak26 if you were of a mind to start commercially building these, they will come. Paying the cost that this high quality example would cost to make a profit for your high quality efforts. What people pay for a new Airstream for example shows a willingness to pay for quality. Though my opinion is the quality in even the Airstreams today doesnt match the older units in some ways. Not your daddy's Airstream. Not comparing newer technology necessarily. Its almost universal that new RV buyers are disapointed in the quality of the newer, mass produced RV's. Buy a new one and spend the summer you planned to be camping waiting on the dealer spending the whole season doing warranty work on your "new" camper! And they are not cheap to buy.
