Every year automation removes the need for more and more humans. As long as companies continue to automate to save money and increase productivity, it is, and will continue to negatively impact the human race. Although automation saves companies money, they don’t reduce their prices which makes it even more difficult for those that lose their jobs. We’re told to train for programing, coding and other jobs, but there will only be so many available jobs in an automated society. There are also only so many job that require humans to perform them, so even this area is threatened. I believe that the government needs to step in and require that companies must hire a certain percentage of humans per machines or something similar. Automation, including the use if AI’s will eventually destroy a country and a large percentage of the population will be unemployed. In addition, employees pay taxes which fund the government and the nation, machines don’t. If there is a dramatic reduction in taxes, the government can’t afford to pay unemployment, or any other benefits or entitlements that people rely on. Of course, the United States hasn’t really been concerned enough with the national debt and won’t take seriously steps to curtail it until it hurts everyone. The same goes for social security and Medicare which runs out of money in 7-11 years or so. The government hasn’t taken serious steps to correct it, and probably won’t until it negatively impacts everyone because politics come first. No party wants to make major changes for fear of not being reelected. With automation and AI, they likely will do what they always do and ignore it until the majority of the population is unemployed, everyone’s wealth is reduced or eliminated and, the government doesn’t have sufficient taxes coming in to properly run the government. They will wait to do something about automation and AI until it’s too late, just like everything else.

The reason the electric plane is called Alice is because it’s a fairy tale! Electric vehicles suck in the cold. It’s pretty cold up in the air where it flies.

Batteries are far more resilient to those temperatures than humans are and amazingly enough, we don't die up there. Batteries still have quite a ways to go but they are getting there.

@@heyletsplaythis lack of understanding. Batteries in modern electric cars have heaters to get them up to temp initially and when in operation, the heat of normal operation keeps them working fine. Do you know what the most popular car in Norway is? Do you know what the winters are like in Norway? Do you think they shut down for the winter? Battery vehicles are different than gas vehicles. Each had things you need to keep in mind. In order to charge efficiently, batteries need to be pure conditioned and it takes a greater amount of time when cold. The users of the vehicles, number 1, were dependent on public fast chargers. Many were rental or leases from Uber so the people didn't have home charging, they didn't have a good understanding of battery vehicle operation. They expected to pull up to the pump and start the flow which doesn't happen in the cold. Most had not even pre conditioned their battery. So it has to happen while connected which takes longer in the cold. So they disconnected and tried to restart the process... Which restarted the entire process. Some were trying to charge at not so well maintained stations. All new things require learning.

@@neurofiber2406 so planes will have to have a lot of battery heaters to keep them from getting cold and drain the batteries more from the current drawn by the battery heaters? So what magic do you have to charge all these planes? I don’t know any electric grid that’s capable of handling all this extra load. Only thing that would make sense then is adding more nuclear power plants 🤷🏻‍♂️

Let's not forget the massive bogg-downs at our ports created by the Covid 19 pandemic.... The bigger, more complex, the system isn't always the best operating.... Sometimes simple is better and even more efficient....😊

Maybe DPD could invest in artificial intelligence to drive their vans to stop their vans from pulling out Infront of you, failing to indicate when changing lanes and to get parcels to the correct address on time ☹️😮

It would negatively affect jobs actually handling the cargo, true. But it would also create jobs for monitoring and maintaining the automated systems. Pretty sure those cargo-moving robots can’t fix themselves.

@@tracemyersx if they want cargo-bots, they’ll build cargo-bots. If they want fixer-bots, they’ll build fixer-bots. The more functions you build into a robot, the more complex and breakable you make them. Example: computer chess games can beat grandmasters, but they’re not programmed to operate warships.

To quote @tracemyersx, yet. This whole episode was about how disposable humans are becoming, even though the creators don't recognize that. Eventually, there will be no one left to purchase the ears the automatons are manufacturing and moving.
