Everyone is stating on here that you should not deal with these rip off dealers. But I believe we should do more. We need to report them. We need to leave reviews, because by doing that, we might be saving someone’s mother, daughter, friend from being ripped off by these crooks.

Great advice. My added advice would be to never fall in love with a particular car. The dealer will take advantage of your emotions. You will likely be able to find the same car elsewhere. Just walk away from a bad deal.

Yup, I had a friend that fell in love with the look of the Nissan Rogue and bought a new one in 2021. She even got a good deal. She regrets it. It is a Nissan after all, and problems are starting to creep up. Even if she gets lucky and gets them fixed under warranty, 1:1 odds at best, there will just be more and more problems. Hopefully she can take advantage of the insane market and not lose too much money, but it is a Nissan which are not really in demand. I wish I could have convinced her to lease so if she got super lucky, paying the rest off would be easy and if the likely case happened she could walk away a wiser woman.

As far as the Freight or Destination Charge and Documentation Fees, I've always told the dealer I would split it with them. When they questioned my logic, I would tell them, I may not be able to buy the car without it being shipped here or doing the paperwork, but you couldn't sell it either. It's a 50/50 relationship so I'll split those costs 50/50. Usually, I win that discussion. One time, when the dealer was not willing to do this, I told them they could give me a full size spare on a rim to match the 4 on the car and mud flaps and I'll consider us square on the deal. They did it!

For situations where dealers are only offering finance options, check to see if they have a zero penalty 'early payoff option'. This way, if you have the cash, go ahead with the finance option and then pay off the loan a few weeks afterwards. Key step is to confirm (and get in writing) that there is no penalty before agreeing to the finance option.

All the dealers in I visited in Calgary charges protection plans, warranties and install accessories on top. The worst dealers are Toyota Henninger, Toyota Southpoint, Honda Heritage, Mazda Kramer and Toyota Canyon Creek. He scheduled an appointment but when I drove 1.5 hrs to the showroom a diff salesperson was assigned to me after waiting an hour. I was not offered a test drive and citing that the showroom will be closing soon I was pushed and confused to accept a new order for a highlander xle. There were packages on it which were not explained at all during the sale. Now it's been more than 90 days and I have no response and I don't know how to cancel this. I asked for a Toyota Corolla Cross L AWD base quote with any color online through my local toyota dealership. They asked me in-order to get a factory order I would have to make a reservation with a downpayment if I wanna go through cash. I'm completely fine with that but before hand they would never give me the quote through email and I do have to go to their dealership to get the price breakdowns of everything. As always went to the dealership, they offered nice little chair and a coffee and a Donut but then, I heard the quote the salesperson was mumbling around not even giving me any paper. He was basically trying to charge me for markups, this addition and that addition, After market wheels(dealer specific thing) etc which raised the price to about 4k excluding sales tax and document fees and other important stuff. I denied to pay for all those extra bullcraps, and they said in order for us to even consider deleting those options you have to go through Finance system. I have an excellent credit score but one thing I hate is finance my whole life(except houses which generates profit over time through rental and appreciation). I straight up drove to Kentucky where I already got a quote from Toyota dealer who gave me every breakdowns and price they charge and the reason for that. They even applied discount over my purchase and had a vehicle available on lot to go if I would wanna consider it(only if I decide to go not through factory order and they're completely fine with Factory orders having the same price and discount applied). Drove to the dealership there signed the papers, paid the cash and walked away with a new 2023 Corolla cross L AWD(Black) with 24000 after tax and everything instead of 33k 😂. It took a day to process and I was tired so I got a hotel(200)+fuel cost back and forth (200),plate transfer fee to my local state(~55)+ One day personal hassle cost rated at 50 dollars an hour for me and my wife(2400). Total= 26900. Will use the purchase as Business expense over my tax report, which will bring the cost to 2500 out of pocket. Also they had much better donuts 😉

Threaten to walk and order from the other dealership and wait another 8 months? The very point of this video is the CURRENT MARKET where you have to order cars and wait months... your advice is about a fantasy from year's past when cars you wanted were actually in stock, sitting on lots and ready for purchase. I was going to pay cash on the deal and we had the deal written up as cash but the finance guy came out and said I could only buy the car if I financed. He was willing to let me walk away. The finance guy was honest and he told me that I couldn't pay cash because he wanted the kickback on the loan. The MSRP is not the Dealer Invoice cost. You can negotiate lesser than the MSRP by $200 to $1,000 less. Never indicate you will pay Cash in full. Do your homework and know the car and approximate price. Add Sales Tax, know your Credit Score, use the Auto Manufacturers' Finance Company for a good APR or get a Pre-Approved Loan from your Bank or Credit Union. Be aware of Vehicle Service Contracts or extended Warranties as dealers tend to Double the actual cost of obtaining one. Check with other dealers, shop around and ask. Most dealers will attempt to sell you an Undercarriage Rustproofing and Paint Protection service which is a 3rd Party and they get a money Kick Back, also the dealer does not guarantee, warrant, or vouch for them as they have nothing to do with the dealership. Placing a Deposit means you want the car, getting your deposit back will be tough so be careful about being placed on a long waiting list. If you place a deposit get it in Writing and Signed that if you change your mind that they will refund your deposit. Never take their word or handshake on it, get it in writing and signed. I'm showing you Honda Care warranty outlay of what is covered, the finance guy or salesperson gives you the cost, beware they might be actually selling you a warranty from a 3rd Party and mark up the price as double cost and not selling you Honda Care. You can be scammed into stuff. Never rush, ask questions, and do not sign anything until you look it over and think about it.

Personally i would deal with volume dealer at time they are looking at number cars sold and not profit on single ones.

If I ever finance another car, I'm going through a Credit Union. Paying off early with no penalties and being able to pay more than the minimum payment and not save on interest isn't in the fine print in GM financing. They smile to your face and stab you in the back.

Get Toyota and get used for now - no point of paying markups for no reason. Dealers sales associates that I met usually know less about the car that I want, honestly don't know what I am paying for. Get new and a car that you really like when you are able to afford (more options then when financially more stable).

So about three months later thinking of refinancing it at a bank at 4%(didn't agree) and slashed the extra fees by $4k the game is on my money and the bank almost retained th dealership payment. So help us to solve the interest and lowering the monthly payments for 72 months. Thank you

The Worst dealership in WA state USA is Town Toyota in East Wenatchee Washington. They’re horrible to try to deal with. They’ll try to buy your trade in for below wholesale and charge you Everything for the vehicle you’re buying. They will Not negotiate. We found this out last November when we needed to replace our 18 year old Camry. We drove 2.5 hours to Tacoma Washington and saved over $5K. The dealership in Tacoma had to do a dealer trade to get our car in Tacoma. They traded with Town Toyota. The day after buying my wife her new car, we drove it to Town Toyota and thanked them for doing the dealer trade. The sales manager asked us what we bought it for so we told them. They were miffed that we didn’t buy from them but I told them that they were trying to rip us off. One more thing: Anytime you buy a new vehicle, the manufacturer gives the dealership a 4% kick back. Also the best time to purchase or order a new vehicle is the last 5 days of the month. Another way to save money is to have 2 or 3 dealerships completing against each other for the sale. It takes work but the payoff can save you thousands of dollars.

Five months ago, I ordered a new Toyota by phone, with a $500. deposit on my credit card. The salesman on the phone told me I could get this back if I change my mind. I recently received a e-mail with a similar car coming in next month with a $300. adjustment fee. Before I ordered the car , I asked the salesman if there were to be fees added. He stated I could buy the car for MSRP, plus a $125. dealer dock fee. This car has some add-ons I hadn’t ordered, as well as lacking ad-ons that I had ordered. If the salesman was upfront with me to begin with, I would have checked other dealerships. I feel like calling the dealership, and ask to speak with the sales manager, stating I don’t think it’s fair to pay the $300. adjustment fee when I was told the only added fee would be a $125. doc fee. Deduct the $299. adjustment fee, and deduct the floor mats, as I have a set from a Subaru, that I think may fit. Than I will buy the car.

You can work the game against them. Let them think they are stealing the trade with their lowball offer, then pull it out and sell it yourself. Also, have your own financing pref early your credit union. Let them think they have you on high rate financing.. Then tell them that's the rate to beat. I got 1/2% better rate by agreeing to gap insurance and extended warranty. I made sure it was cancellable in the fine print, went back the next week and canceled it. Refuse to pay any bullshit fees

First, ALL dealers are crooked, it's just a matter of degree. The best advice is NEVER to set foot in a dealership. Always just buy from a previous owner with his title in hand, with all service records and ONLY after a PPI by your own, trusted mechanic. Second: Familiarize yourself with your states LAWS applicable to your interactions, if you are so foolish as to even contemplate going to a dealer. Every state has a Dept. of Consumer Affairs or something similar to inform and to try to protect you. In bad cases, there is your Attorney General's Office. They can often be VERY helpful. Never buy a model that has a reputation for unreliability; you're only setting yourself up for problems and owning a rapidly-depreciating "asset". Finding a greater fool to take a problem model off your hands can be a real problem. Oh, and, again, if you are so foolish as to have anything to do with a car dealer, NEVER finance at the dealership. The highest-paid employee at most dealerships is the leasing/financing agent. There's a reason for that. Always go to your credit union or bank for a loan. You will still lose money but you'll lose less. If you're leasing, read EVERY word of the lease and be SURE that it says exactly what you've agreed upon. If it takes you an hour to go through it, DO IT. If there's a term you don't really understand, look it up on your phone. NEVER believe that such terms actually mean what the agent says it means unless it's in writing and signed. My daily driver will be 25 yo in the spring and it's still a joy to own and to drive. I'll keep it.

If the Dealer has add-on features, remember they are adding them on at full retail so you should be able to reduce that by a third of their price for those items. One thing that cuts against the grain that I did do one time for a work truck: I told them up front I was considering the Dealer Warranty so I wanted to know that price up front. The Finance Manager came out and talked to me, I told him my intention is to pay X amount, of which a portion would be for the full Dealer Warranty. They ended up doing the deal. The truck was about $2800 under sticker and the warranty brought it back up to about $900 under sticker. Other dealers weren't budging on prices $1,800 to $3,000 more than what I paid. We ended up needing the warranty, too! So I got peace of mind and use of the warranty.
