Im envious brother. I have a British Army one and a cheap Dutch one, but that one there is a beast. For half the year you could probably camp out in that with just a wool blanket.

Fabulous bit of kit! I’ve got one myself! Carinthia stuff is brilliant, I’ve slept out in winter in Ireland in it! The Dutch hooped bivi is brilliant. Leo Kohler still make the moleskin combats

I have the French army issue bivvy bag with zip that is three layer laminate.. it's made by FECSA in Spain and is very good.. I paid 60€ on Ebay for it brand new.. It is actually very similar to the one you show here, the brand name apart .. It also has the strange French hood that was used on their earlier issue sleeping bags, to fold it into.. Cheers G

Technically it is the PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) found in Goretex that are of concern, especially the DWR coating. Fun fact: these substances are found in Teflon cookware and the paper bags McDonald’s uses for their food. Cast-iron pots and oilcloth tarps it is then… 😊
