There is not any valid information why General Buzz and Lyla broke up. There are many theories though. My theory is that Lyla was tired of Buzz being so focused on his career, rather than caring for her and their children, so she left. She later on wanted to get full custody for her kids, but before that could happen, she went missing.

She didn’t want to get custody on her kids because she was a selfish person. She didn’t want this life of mother, housewife and a bird in locked golden cage, she was in forced arranged marriage, which ended with a complete disaster. She wanted to be free and independent. If only she didn’t have kids, it will be great for her. But as she left kids, especially Ripp, who idolized her, and whom she raised in her way: debauched, permissive, spoiled, stupid, infantile, lazy and sloppy, she was not a good mother. She thought only about herself. She put not the fate of children in the first place, but her wounded ego. It’s a good thing that Lyla left them, she didn’t turn Buck into another Ripp. Buck is youngest, but the smartest, the most calculated, serious and underrated. He raises in his own way. General Buzz deserved someone much better than Lyla.

General Buzz is not a womanizer. He’s an ascetic, he’s too much obsessed with promoting of his interests and interests of his family, so he has no time, no wish and no worries about who to hook up with.
