Tarkus was released in summer of 1971, 51 years ago. It is amazing that Palmer is still physically fit enough to play this song let alone an entire set and be able to tour. He looks good and obviously has many years left to play. Palmer is certainly one of the most distinct drummers of the progressive era.

I don't think he has ever been included in Rolling Stone Mag but yet Shelia E is there. IMO, he is easily in the top 10, if not top 5 of all time. It's mind boggling. And speaking of RSM, i just checked for the top 100 guitar players of al time and I don't even see Eric Johnson. You know, the man that played the greatest guitar solo ever. Buddy was impressed by all their skills at keeping to arrangements and their versatility. Buddy also remarked w appreciation for the fitness of each given the typical grueling schedules they all were contracted to uphold.

I talked with Carl briefly after the show and he was glad to see I brought my 24 year old son along. Took some good pics with him which he did only cause i was lazt in line to meet him and becuse my son was there. He still plays every drum note like he did 45 - 50 years ago.
