Not that I'm profiling anybody, but if someone gives a thumbs-down to Carl Reiner you definitely are not of this planet

Fun fact about “That’s My Boy”. Carl Reiner almost quit during that episode. Because the network didn’t think the ending when the black couple comes in would go over well and told him to take it out. He refused and said if it didn’t run as planned he would leave. It turned out to be one of the funniest moments in the show and the longest laugh from the audience. Needless to say Carl Reiner was ahead of his time. An absolute genius!

You can’t get it any better than this. This is one of the best sitcom’s ever. My favorite is the inflatable boat episode. I do have to admit being a woman giving a woman’s perspective we do have high curiosity and it does get the better of us every now and then. But it does not get as hilarious as when it got the better of Laura. The first time I discovered the Dick Van Dyke show was on Nick at night. That was when Nick at night was at its best in the 90s and early 2000s. But all in all I do have to think Carl Reiner for creating such a wonderful show. God bless you Carl we miss you. Thanks so much for posting the video it is greatly appreciated. Everyone take care, take it easy and be safe

I think the Dick Van Dyke Show was 1 of the best achievements of Carl Reiners. Besides the gift he may have given his wife & kids a great life as a husband & a father.

I wasn’t planning on being critical of the mistakes in this one, but there’s one mistake I must point out. So I’ll point out the others too. You say that Lyle Delp is a former convict and then you say he’s a guard. He is neither of those things. He is still an inmate doing his time for the attempted robbery of Rob and Laura. I think that he is part of the entertainment committee, but he is still definitely an inmate. He’s even wearing an inmate’s uniform. You keep saying “Peetrees”. It’s spelled “Petrie” and pronounced “Pet-ree”. The “e” in the first syllable is a short “e”. Here’s the BIG one. In the episode That’s My Boy? you said that Rob thinks the hospital gave them the wrong baby and in the end, he’s right. NOOOOOOO!!!!! So much NO! Rob does think the hospital gave them the wrong baby. The hospital was busy and Laura is either in room 203 or 208. I’m not sure which. Whichever room Laura is in, there’s a lady with the last name Peters in the other one. Laura and Mrs. Peters had a baby boy on the same day and the hospital keeps mixing them up giving Laura Mrs. Peters’ things and vice versa. Rob thinks the hospital accidentally switched the babies because the hospital was busy and there is a similarity between Peters and Petrie and between 203 and 208 and both had baby boys on the same day. Eventually Rob calls Mr Peters because the hospital mixed up a couple of gifts so they need to exchange them and Rob tells Mr. Peters that he thinks the babies were switched. Mr and Mrs Peters come over. Rob opens the door and finds out that Mr. and Mrs. Peters are Black, so obviously there was no baby switching.

Carl Reiners crowning achievements to me, (besides a loving marriage to Estelle & bringing their children into the world) is the Dick Van Dyke Show. TV these days is not as good w/ acting & comedy as it was years ago. I myself can truly say that The Dick Van Dyke Show is a classic! Certain parts of our life & world were kept out of the show. Which caused that show to be as great as it was. Concerning life & comedy.

I feel good that most of Carl's favs are also my favorites too. However if I were famous and died and somebody cared what my favorite episodes were, "Too many stars", (Rob's hilarious mocking of Laura's dance routine Episode #68), "Like a sister", (Guest star is Vic Damon Episode #38). "The Alan Brady Show Presents" (Christmas Show featuring song "Toy Soldiers" Episode #75), "One Hundred Terrible Hours" (Flashback of Rob's first meeting with Alan Brady Episode #124) and "The Great Petri Fortune" (Rob inherited a uncle's desk Episode #133), "The Ghost of A. Chance" (The guys spend the night in a rustic lodge Episode #96), will also be included.
