I'm not a Corrie watcher, but I have to admit this storyline really caught my attention. Suicide is a God awful feeling that no one should suffer. And Shayne acted so brilliant in the scenes.

"Forty-odd years I've lived on this street. That same view every day. Practically know every cobble back to front, I like to think we look out for each other around here and without being nosey, know what's going on in each other's lives. But you don't, do you? "Not that I knew him that well. Just to say hello to really. But he was always polite with me, which is more than you can say for some folk. I hope I'd have listened if he ever wanted to speak to me, not that he would have done. I wonder when he did it? When I was reading the kids a bedtime story? When I was getting ready for bed? When I was having some toast this morning? Or was I sleeping, safe in here with the double glazing and the central heating thinking our problems are bigger than everybody else's? Well, happens we've all been sleeping Mam. I can't stop thinking about poor Johnny. His son's not coming home tonight. I just hope to god mine is."

Everyone who took part in this storyline did such a great job, I love the way that they took such a serious part of everyday life and made people more aware that mental health in males is also serious too, its difficult to reach out to people but once you do, you feel a little relief to know that your not gonna go through it alone. To whoever is reading this, I hope your having a great day and remember that you are loved

I knew this storyline was coming but the way it was made was amazing. and his dad's reaction brought me to tears. from him trying to save him in the bathroom to saying goodbye when his body is taken away brought it home to me how hard it must be when families have the same raw emotion when a loved one takes their own life. well done corrie.

When Kate says he'll never be fine again, none of us will, it's so true. It really shows how grief can affect people and grief never goes away.

It was never confirmed how Aiden killed himself but Kate used the phrase “topped himself” which either means self hanging or shooting your self in the head according to the definition. Heartbreaking storyline that still sticks with me years later 😢😢😢
@wrghty Жыл бұрын
They probs used those as examples... "topping yourself" just means suicide in general. Although I think it was hanging cause Johnny mention how he moved the body, so no one else could see him that way

I thought it was really good. Within this one scene you have each person showing a very different type of grief. And then you go on to see her later loose Rana and see that she experiences grief different in different circumstances and for different people. Kate; angry. Johnny; in pieces. Carla; calm and rational. Jenny (think that’s her name); wants to make everything perfect and busy herself.

Grief makes people lash out. Suicide is a fundamentally selfish act, it doesn't make victims bad people for doing it, but it's easy to understand why their loved ones are angry.
@Katientel6 жыл бұрын

i have had a very dark suicidal past and yes i have been in Hospital for it i am on a 145mg anti depressant been on and off Suicide watch there is a lot of things people deal with to cause suicidal depression mine was being heavily bullied/cyber bullied being beaten up so scared to leave my own home just because you see the world as a bright light and enjoying life a lot of us don't we are made to feel alone scared confused i know i deal with it every day but every single suicide attempt i have had all failed not because i chickened out no because i was caught every single time by my family they was reason i was put in Hospital in Cheadle Royal in Manchester now i am trying to get my life back witch it can not because the damage has all ready been done but for you to judge us saying we are selfish. you really do not know what people... like my self are going through
