One really sad thing to note is that Thorfinn and Einar don't have much experience with the elderly. Everyone they knew had died young from war and violence so seeing Sverkel deteriorate quickly as he aged was such a huge shock for them

About what snake says at 12:08. Books were a lot more expensive those days, also if you look at the cover of the book you'll see that it's of high quality meaning it can probably be sold at a very high price. Nonetheless Snake probably still loves grandpa a lot.

To add to this, the mangaka has been asked about the details he puts into hands to which he replied "after the face, the hands are the most expressive part of the body"

Actually there are a lot of close ups of hands in the manga as well. The mangaka confirmed that he pays a lot of attention to it so I am very happy that the anime actually picked up on that and translated that so well. Because it’s really an important part of the manga but I didn’t expected that they actually would put the same detail in the Anime as well.

The moment Gardar becomes involved, is when this season goes from a 10 to a 11. "The Road Home" is the best episode of this season in my opinion, the direction in the second half is peak storytelling.

Is it only me? . oh and also 12:35 , thr creator of Vinland Saga, Makoto Yukimura stated that he believes a person's hand can convey more than the eyes. And i can assure you the hands are WAY more detailed in the manga.

I did as well but always had the feeling of "this man is too nice in this story when are we going to see his true colours" in the back of my mind. After what he went through I wouldn't blame him either, going away to secure his future only for it to blow up in his face, THEN coming back home and realizing shit's hit the fan there too. It’s kinda sad that Canute have become like the King Sweyn slow by slow, he got too greedy with the power of the king. Also i loved it that you can see Thorfinn’s voice really changed like angry man to the man with zero problem, i fcking love that. I know young people watching Vinland Saga only seek for violence/gore or fights but this show is for finding Thorfinn true nature of becoming real warrior not a killing machine
