Wanda killing Charles in DSMOM was confrontational to a tea. A confrontation of telepathic powers and a demonstration of on what different level they stood. Wanda looked straight into charles eyes and overpowered him gaining complete control over him and killing him. She was just being a showoff with that red smoke and sneak snap on neck and I'm all here for that horror element. Wanda has been nothing but straight to the confrontation throughout that entire movie. It's just a matter of bad writing on stranges part and bad name of the movie

You should read the recent comics. Chaos Magic was retconned. It is now a force, that works like magic. Primordial Chaos, before everything, was pure primordial chaos. The Phoenix was born out of this force thus, was also dubbed, chaos formed order. We've seen Jean at her strongest form, the WPOTC. Meanwhile we haven't seen wanda's. House of M was just a small fragment and it really is just a normal feat.
