From the first time I saw Alcaraz he reminded me much of Roger. His footwork as well. Since Roger retired, Alcaraz has saved tennis for me. But I do really miss Federer 😢

Roger in his prime is just so beautiful to watch. I think prime Roger could beat prime Novak. The one-two punch serve and forehand combo especially on game points and match points was kinda missing late in his career.Too bad prime Roger has Rafa as his kryptonite. Roger was beating everyone and then lost easily to Rafa in the finals in so many slams simply because Rafa was hitting all balls to his backhand.

Sinner doesn't grunt and celebrate much, but cannot produce the magic that Alcaraz does. Sinner preserves the superficial aspects of Roger- no grunting, fashion-consciousness etc- but Alcaraz preserves the CORE of Roger's greatness, the footwork and sheer inventive genius. I know what I value more- the latter.

Carlos plays a lot like Fed on many points, but I saw a side by side comparison of a no look shot on clay that shows the perfection of Federer's movement and technique - it was the same shot but Carlos looked clumsy compared to the sleek precision of the maestro's movements. No one moved better than Federer, man was artistry in motion.

There are lots of similarities for sure and I really fond of Alcaraz playing style. In addition, Alcaraz's fighting spirit is more like Nadal's and Djokovic's, and that's a very good thing actually. But at the end of the day Federer is still the one and only in tennis history. He was so smooth and elegant that you can't compare even his some specific shots with any another player.

Maybe 4.5-6,000,000 shots? These two phenomenal major tennis players played maybe 1,750-ish pro matches, and maybe averaged 11-16 shots a point in 220 points per match? (Masters used to have five set finals grand slam mentions of course have five sets and one or two more rounds, but played less frequently).

How clever this is! Brilliant video! It really looks as if Alcaraz must have been tutored in all these shots. I agree with many others here that he is brash, and I don't like so much grunting and rabble-rousing. But he is only 20 for goodness sake, and, we hope, if he can learn like this he will keep developing his own game so that it looks more as if it all belongs to him and flows better. Like Federer he seems to have so much time to plan his shots.

First time I seen him play was in AO 2022 vs Berretini, and even though he lost in 5, I immediately became a fan of him. Such a fun ride watching him get to the top in less than 2 years.

I have never been nor am I a fan of Federer's. Yet, whenever any move of his is compared to anyone else's, I can't help wondering how could he be the more elegant of all. Even in this video, we see an elegance gap between the two (and maybe maybe a slight technical gap as well: this I am not sure of). Needless to say, you could make this video because you know all best Federer points by heart :))... and are following Alcaraz very closely.
